Emerging contaminants (ECs) is a pollutant that is becoming a concern. Paracetamol is an emerging contaminant which can cause pollution in the body of water as well as have toxicity that can affect health and environment. Adsorption is an alternative method of ECs removal which is quite promising because it is highly-efficient, cost effective, and easy to operate. This study was conducted to compare the effectiveness of paracetamol adsorption process by various types of adsorbents, evaluate the effect of pH operational parameters on the effectiveness of the adsorption process, and evaluate the potential reuse of adsorbents. Quantification of paracetamol was carried out by COD spectrophotometric method and the solid-liquid separation method used was the separation method with a syringe filter. Removal of paracetamol used various adsorbents, namely powdered activated carbon (PAC), natural zeolite, fly ash, alum sludge, calcined sludge, and acid activated sludge. Analysis of the paracetamol adsorption process with PAC adsorbent was carried out based on the effect of the concentration of the adsorbent, the concentration of pollutants and pH. Based on the results of the study, PAC effectively removes paracetamol with COD removal efficiency of 70.30%. While other adsorbents are less effective because the efficiency of COD removal is negative. Adsorption with PAC effectively removes paracetamol at neutral and acidic pH. PAC adsorbent has a potential for reuse as much as one time with the allowance efficiency value > 40%.

ABSTRACT
In Indonesia, there are many pollutants found in water bodies related to industrial activities, one of which is the textile industry. Waste water produced by the textile industry generally contains dyes (dyes) from the coloring, dyeing, washing, and so on. One of the dyes that are widely used is the Methyl Orange dye. From a technical aspect, the problem in wastewater treatment is related to conventional technology in reducing the content of dyes as refractory contaminants. Therefore, in this study a heterogeneous Fenton process is used that utilizes iron powder waste as catalyst and H2O2 oxidants. Iron powder waste is obtained from iron cutting activities in the construction site. The powder was characterized using SEM-EDX, XRD, PSA, AAS, and Spectrophotometer to see the morphological conditions, mineral composition, particle distribution, and total iron content. The parametric test results in this study indicate that the higher the concentration of the catalyst of iron powder and the higher the reaction temperature, the higher the rate of removal of the Methyl Orange compounds. However, the higher the concentration of H2O2, the concentration of pollutants, and the pH of the solution, the lower the rate of removal of the Methyl Orange compounds. From the test results, it is obtained that heterogeneous Fenton process using a iron powder waste catalyst effective in removing the composition of Methyl Orange to reach a 97.10% removal percentage. In conclusion, the multipurpose catalyst from the construction program can be used as a heterogeneous Fenton catalyst to degrade Methyl Orange compounds.

The prevalence of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the environment has been increasing over time. AMR has been detected in groundwater as one of the microbiological pollutants. Metro City, where the majority relies on groundwater from boreholes and wells, accounting for 90%, must be vigilant against AMR. This study aims to analyze the concentration of E. coli and cefotaxime-resistant E. coli, along with their ratio, to analyze the influence of rainfall, temperature, humidity, pH, total dissolved solids, and turbidity on concentration levels, and to provide recommendations for groundwater management based on the prevalence of E. coli and cefotaxime-resistant E. coli in Metro City. The research was conducted at 11 locations from November to February using the IDEXX Colilert-18 and Quanti-Tray/2000 to detect the concentration of E. coli and cefotaxime-resistant E. coli through the use of antibiotics. The results showed that 67% of the groundwater contained E. coli, with 27% being resistant to cefotaxime. The percentage of presence of (1) E. coli and (2) cefotaxime-resistant E. coli with very high-risk categories (>100 MPN/100 ml) reached (1) 24% and (2) 0%; high risk (>10 – 100 MPN/100 ml) (1) 13% and (2) 2%; moderate risk (1 – 10 MPN/100 ml) (1) 31% and (2) 16%; and low risk (<1 MPN/100 ml) (1) 33% and (2) 82%. The increase in E. coli concentration correlated with rainfall, temperature, and turbidity, while the increase in cefotaxime-resistant E. coli concentration correlated with rainfall. Correlation relationships were determined through Spearman rank tests based on significance (p- value) < 0.05. Based on the prevalence, the community can minimize concentrations by modifying the physical conditions of wells to meet the standards set by the Ministry of Public Works and SNI. The community can also use simple filters, such as granular filters, to filter water before use. Despite these measures, it should be noted that there are other influencing factors that can affect the concentration of E. coli and cefotaxime-resistant E. coli, such as contaminants around the well, such as human feces, livestock feces and household wastewater. Therefore, the government's role in providing clean water facilities becomes one of the steps to reduce the use of contaminated groundwater."
