Abstrak :
This research aims to know to what extend tourist use travel guidebooks for their visit to Yogyakarta, as one of tourism destination in Indonesia. This research was conducted by taking tourist who has been to or during their visit to Yogyakarta. Qualitative interviews with three travel experts precede this research in order to gather the purpose of using travel guidebooks by tourist visiting Yogyakarta. The results are 31 purposes of using travel guidebooks. After conducting factor analysis and reliability tests, seven factors comprising 26 statements were extracted which are: functional needs, forward-looking needs, learning needs, autonomy needs, tension reduction needs, security needs, and objectification needs.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana wisatawan menggunakan buku panduan wisata untuk kunjungannya ke Yogyakarta yang merupakan salah satu destinasi pariwisata di Indonesia. Wawancara kualitatif dengan tiga ahli pariwisata di Yogyakarta dilakukan sebagai tahapan awal penelitian ini untuk menggali tujuan penggunaan buku panduan wisata oleh wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Yogyakarta. Hasil dari wawancara ini adalah 31 pernyataan yang kemudian dikembangkan sebagai item pertanyaan dalam kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 100 wisatawan asing yang pernah berkunjung atau sedang berkunjung ke Yogyakarta. Setelah melakukan analisis faktor dan uji reliabilitas, dihasilkan tujuh faktor yang terdiri dari 26 pernyataan, yaitu: functional needs, forward-looking needs, learning needs, autonomy needs, tension reduction needs, security needs, and objectification needs.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mencari tahu pengaruh dari jarak waktu terhadap tingkat pemberian hukuman. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, peneliti mencoba mereplikasi studi dari 2 penelitian sebelumnya, yaitu penelitian Carlsmith, Darley, dan Robinson (2002) tentang motif hukuman, dan penelitian Eyal, Trope, dan Liberman (2008), tentang jarak waktu. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Survey Eksperimen dan menggunakan modifikasi dari instrument penelitian Eyal, Trope, dan Liberman (2008). Penelitian ini melibatkan 119 masyarakat umum, yang berdomisili di daerah Jabodetabek. Setelah data diolah dalam SPSS menggunakan metode Chi square, ditemukan bahwa hasil penelitian tidak signifikan χ 2 (1, N= 2,215, p>.01), yang berarti tidak ada hubungan antara jarak waktu dan perilaku menghukum. Hasil diduga tidak signifikan dikarenakan kegagalan instrument penelitian untuk memberikan efek jarak waktu kepada partisipan, dan kurangnya pertimbangan kepada perspektif pihak ketiga dalam pengambilan keputusan. ...... The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of temporal distance on the level of punishment. To achieve this goal, the researcher tried to replicate 2 previous studies, namely Carlsmith, Darley, and Robinson (2002) research on punishment motives, and Eyal, Trope, and Liberman (2008) research about time intervals. This study used an Experimental Survey design and used research instruments with modifications from the Eyal, Trope and Liberman (2008). This study involved 119 participants from general public, who live in the Greater Jakarta area. After the data were processed in SPSS using the Chi square method, it was found that the results of the study were not significant χ2 (1, N = 2,215, p> .01), which means there is no relationship between the temporal distance and the level of punishment. The results are thought to be insignificant due to the failure of the research instrument to provide the effect of time intervals to participants, and the lack of consideration for the perspective of third parties in decision making.

Abstrak :
This study attempted to answer the question of how the financial incentives can influence cooperative behavior in situations involving taboo tradeoffs, and the extent to which construal levels (abstract or concrete) also influences the willingness of participants to perform said tradeoffs. The study was conducted by taking three different contexts, namely a voluntary provision of tutorials from senior students to the junior (Depok study), mosque renovation activities (Mojokerto study) and renovation of temples (Bali study). The study used laboratory experimental methods for Depok study, and field experiment for Mojokerto and Bali studies. In Depok, we found that students were willing to do taboo tradeoffs and perceived them as not taboo. However, even though Mojokerto and Bali participants perceived the exchange as taboo, they were willing to do it. In general, we also found that participants tend to contribute higher taboo tradeoffs in abstract situation.

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian lanjutan dari studi Maglio, Trope, dan Liberman (2013b) mengenai pengaruh jarak spasial dalam mengurangi sensitivitas terhadap jarak sosial (studi 5). Penelitian lanjutan ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana faktor emosi yang diatribusikan pada jarak sosial yang jauh dapat memengaruhi efek jarak spasial terhadap jarak sosial, mengingat penilaian jarak sosial pasti melibatkan emosi yang dirasakan individu terhadap objek penilaian. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua studi yang melibatkan 186 mahasiswa S1 psikologi UI sebagai partisipan. Studi pertama yang merupakan replikasi dari studi 5 Maglio, dkk (2013b) menunjukkan hasil serupa dengan penelitian acuan, yaitu kelompok dengan manipulasi jarak spasial jauh merasakan jarak sosial yang lebih dekat dibandingkan kelompok partisipan dengan manipulasi jarak spasial dekat, F(1, 59,6)= 5,12, p=0,04, η2= 0,06. Studi kedua mengungkap bahwa terdapat interaksi antara jarak spasial dengan emosi, ΔR2= 0,023, F(2,186)= 3,40, p= 0,03. Secara lebih detail, pemberian manipulasi emosi negatif pada jarak sosial jauh dapat menguatkan pengaruh jarak spasial terhadap jarak sosial, b=-13122,58, t= -2,46, p= 0,01 jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok tanpa manipulasi emosi, b= -11357,81,t= -2,17, p= 0,03. Sebaliknya, pemberian manipulasi emosi positif pada jarak sosial jauh membuat manipulasi jarak spasial tidak signifikan dalam mengurangi sensitivitas terhadap jarak sosial, b= 4866,67, t= 0,89, p= 0,37. Oleh karena itu, emosi dapat menjadi moderator antara pengaruh jarak spasil terhadap jarak sosial. ......This research is the continuation of Maglio, Trope and Liberman (2013b) study about the influence of spatial distance in reducing sensitivity of social distance (study 5). This continuation study was conducted to discover how emotional factors that are attributed toward social distance can influence the effect of spatial distance toward social distance, considering how social distance perception must involves emotion felt by individual concerning perceived object. This research involves two studies with 186 undergraduate psychology UI students as the participants. The first study is a replication from Maglio, et al.(2013b) study 5, which resulted on similar result with the original study, whereas the group with far spatial distance manipulation perceive closer social distance compared to the group with near spatial distance manipulation, F(1,59,6)= 5,12, p= 0,04, η2= 0,06. The second study reveal that there is an interaction between spatial distance and emotion, ΔR2= 0,023, F(2,186)= 3,40, p=0,03. On more specific note, negative emotion manipulation on far social distance can enhance the influence of spatial distance toward social distance, b=-13122,58, t= -2,46, p= 0,01 compared to the group with no emotional manipulation, b= -11357,81, t= -2,17, p= 0,03. In contrast, positive emotion manipulation on social distance makes spatial distance manipulation insignificant in reducing sensitivity toward social distance, b= 4866,67, t= 0,89, p= 0,37. In summary, emotion can be a moderator between the influence of spatial distance toward social distance.

Siswa-siswi yang sebagian besar masih berusia remaja, sangat rentan terhadap tampilan mengenai remaja perempuan ideal. Setidaknya Remaja SMA 1 Depok merupakan remaja yang kelas menengah dan atas. Salah satu media yang tanggap perubahan fashion adalah majalah khususnya pada rubrik fashion. Di sekolah SMA 1 Depok remaja banyak ragam menampilkan berbagai gaya fashion yang menjadi gaya tarik masing-masing.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, tehnik pengamatan dilakukan dengan cara observasi keadaan sekolah dan wawancara kepada salah satu informan yang gemar, berlangganan membaca majalah. Hasil data penelitian di analisis sesuai sesuai teori atau konsep. Dari hasil penelitian siswa-siswi SMA 1 Depok persepsi media majalah merupakan acuan pertama untuk merubah penampilan dan fashion remaja. Majalah merupakan alasan satu cara Remaja untuk membentuk identitas di sekolah atau di lingkungan masyarakat. ...... Most of students which are adolescent, are particularly vurnerable to the appearance of ideal female teen. At least, teens at SMA 1 Depok are in a middle and upper class category. One of the up to date information about fashion dynamic is a magazine, especially in a fashion session. At SMA 1 Depok, teens have showed many different styles of fashion which have their own uniqueness. This study is a qualitative research, data collections are done by observing the school condition and indepth interview with the informants who have the qualification reading a magazine. The result of the this research was analized by the suitable theory and conceptual. Based on the result of this research in teens at SMA 1 Depok, magazine perception is a first reference to change the appearance and teens fashion. A Magazine is one of the teens? reason to form an identity at school or the environment.
