"This volume contains the proceedings of the 8th International PhD Student Workshop on Service Life and Durability of Reinforced Concrete Structures that was held in Marne-la-Vallee, France, on September the 26th and 27th 2016.
Topics discussed in the book are related to durability performance of reinforced concrete, service life modelling, prevention, protection and repair.
Reinforced concrete structures may prove to be very durable, however, their gradual degradation over time impairing both serviceability and structural safety is still a matter of great practical concern in view of the large economic consequences for assessment, maintenance and repair. Corrosion of steel reinforcement is considered to be the most detrimental process responsible for structural deterioration.
Many studies are in progress to develop a comprehensive engineering approach for assessment of the initiation and the propagation period of corrosion in both uncracked and cracked concrete. Modelling of chloride penetration and carbonation has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years, however, there is still much debate on several essential aspects such as the chloride threshold level. ASR, and acid, sulphate and frost attack and other mechanisms remain important areas of study. In addition, the interaction between different degradation mechanisms requires further understanding.
The worskhop was organised under the auspices of RILEM EAC (Educational Activities Committee), with the aim to bring together young researchers in the field of durability of concrete."

"Beton bertulang merupakan salah satu jenis integrasi material konstruksi yang banyak digunakan pada struktur bangunan bertingkat, terutama di Indonesia. Dalam hal konstruksi di lapangan, mutu beton merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang sulit dikontrol akibat kegiatan konstruksi yang dinamis dan sulit diprediksi. Penurunan kualitas beton dibatasi oleh SNI 2847:2019 hingga maksimal 25% untuk salah satu hasil pengujian. Penurunan kualitas beton ini dapat berpengaruh pada kebutuhan tulangan serta kinerja seismik bangunan, sehingga penting untuk melakukan penelitian mengenai seberapa besar pengaruh tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bangunan dengan Sistem Rangka Pemikul Momen Khusus (SRPMK) 8 lantai, denah lengkung, serta kantilever menggunakan software ETABS. Pada penelitian ini, akan dilakuan perbandingan kebutuhan tulangan serta evaluasi kinerja seismik bangunan dengan analisis dinamik linear Tier 3 berdasarkan ASCE 41-17. Dari penelitian ini, diperoleh bahwa penurunan mutu beton berpengaruh pada perubahan kebutuhan tulangan. Selain itu, penurunan mutu beton menyebabkan penurunan kekakuan struktur yang berdampak pada respon seismik bangunan dan hasil evaluasi terhadap target kinerja struktur. Adanya kantilever juga menyebabkan peningkatan periode, peningkatan kebutuhan tulangan longitudinal kolom, dan perubahan nilai DCR pada evaluasi kolom.

Reinforced concrete is a widely used construction material in multi-story buildings, especially in Indonesia. In terms of on-site construction, concrete quality is an important aspect that is difficult to control due to the dynamic and unpredictable construction activities. The decrease in concrete quality is limited by SNI 2847:2019 to a maximum of 25% for one of the test results. This decrease in concrete quality can affect the need for reinforcement and the seismic performance of the building, so it is important to conduct research on how much influence it has. This research was performed on an 8-story special moment-resising frame building with curved-plan and cantilevered using ETABS software. This study will compare the reinforcement requirements and evaluate the seismic performance of the building using a Tier 3 linear dynamic analysis based on ASCE 41-17. This study found that a decrease in concrete quality affects the change in reinforcement requirements. In addition, the decrease in concrete quality causes a decrease in structural stiffness which has an impact on the seismic response of the building and the evaluation results against the structural performance target. The presence of cantilever also causes an increase in period, increase in column longitudinal reinforcement requirement, and change in DCR value in column evaluation."
