Abstrak :
Recent years have seen enormous advances in the technology of concrete as a material, through which its strength, compactness and ductility can reach levels never dreamed of before. Thanks to these improved material properties, the strength and durability of concrete structures is greatly improved, their weight and dimensions reduced, the scope of concrete as a structural material is widened and despite the higher material costs, overall economy is possible, with positive impacts on sustainability as well. Similar advances are underway in reinforcing materials, notably high strength steel and fibre-reinforced polymers, and in the way they are combined with concrete into high performance structures. Developments in materials and equipment, as well as new concepts, have lead to innovative construction techniques, reducing cost and construction time and making possible the application of concrete under extreme conditions of construction or environment. All these advances will be highlighted in the book by the top experts in the field of concrete structures.

Abstrak :
The beam-column joint in a reinforced concrete structure is an area with great attention, because of it's important function of transferring the forces from the beam to the column. As the transferring agent, reinforced concrete consisted of concrete and steel reinforcement that must work together to hold and transfer loads. We can examine the cooperation of these two elements from their bonding mechanism. The anchorage length of tensile steel is the determining factor to the quality of the bonding mechanism. The small dimension of column will contribute to the limited length of the anchorage, which is under the prescribed length of the governing rules. Therefore to increase the length of the anchorage, a hump is made on the outer side of the exterior joint. In this experimental study we will examine the bonding quality and the cracking pattern on the specimen's joint which is modelled from a 5 story office building which is scaled to 1 : 2 size. This experimental study will be held in a laboratory using a hydraulic jack to pull the steel reinforcement from the concrete structure, so that the strain and bonding mechanism can be examined. From experiment conducted, a number of conclusions can be drawn; The bonding quality, which is numerically gauged by the average bond stress, it's value rises linearly and reach their yielding point. While the failure pattern on the specimen is considered to be splitting mechanism which started from the loaded end of column to the outside of the joint.
Daerah pertemuan balok-kolom beton bertulang merupakan daerah yang perlu mendapat perhatian khusus, karena fungsinya yang penting sebagai tempat penyaluran gaya dari balok ke kolom. Sebagai sarana penyalur, beton bertulang yang terdiri atas beton dan baja hams dapat bekerjasama dengan baik dalam menahan dan menyalurkan beban, keriasama ini dapat kita lihat kinerianya dari mekanisme lekatan antara tulangan baja dengan beton. Panjang penjangkaran tulangan tank adalah faktor yang menentukan terhadap kualitas lekatan yang diperoleh. Dimensi kolom yang kecil menyebabkan panjang penyaluran menjadi terbatas sehingga tidak memenuhi syarat yang ditetapkan oleh peraturan. Oleh sebab itu untuk menambah panjang penjangkaran dibuat penonjolan pada sisi luar sambungan eksterior balok-kolom. Pada studi eksperimen ini akan dilihat kualitas lekatan dan pola keruntuhan yang terjadi pada spesimen berbentuk sambungan yang didapat dari pemodelan gedung perkantoran 5 lantai. yang berskalakan 1:2. Studi eksperimen yang dilakukan di laboratorium ini menggunakan hydraulic jack untuk menarik tulangan baja dari beton bertulang, sehingga didapat tegangan lekat serta regangan tulangan yang terjadi. Dari eksperimen yang telah dilakukan dapat ditarik kesimpulan sebagai berikut, kualitas lekatan yang besamya diukur secara numerik oleh satuan tegangan lekat rata-rata, trend nilainya bertambah secara linier dan mencapai konstan saat tulangan tersebut mengalami leleh, sedangkan pola keruntunan yang terjadi pada spesimen berjenis splitting yang dimulai dari ujung kolom yang dibebani menuju keluar joint.
