As one of shopping centre's forms, shopping mall require a selection such as potentially carry on commercial transaction as its prerequisite to enter its room. The requirement makes shopping mall space tend to be more private. Supporting space in the shopping mall like atrium or lobby doesn't require its users to carry on commercial transaction to enter its space, but since the supporting space are in the shopping mall, the users are already have been a group of people that the shopping mall had selected.

Tribeca Park with access and connection it has with the shopping mall, make it look like a shopping mall's supporting space. On the other hand, it has entrance that publicly accessible, same size as the mall, and kind of activities that indicated a higher degree of publicness in that space. These two different kinds of access create two different kinds of activities as well that tent to be more private and more public in one space. That event make the space providers did some adjustment like restriction to the accessible public entrance that indicated there's privatization in the open space to become a supporting space for commercial activities in the shopping centre."
