Abstrak :
Almost a quarter century after their core management principles put them in nearly unassailable positions of market dominance, Japanese firms like Toyota, Sony, and Honda are still the standards to which other corporations aspire. Today, Japan's NTT DoCoMo is on the verge of attaining equal stature. DoCoMo is the world's second-largest mobile phone operator and, with its I-mode system, the first to roll out real, viable third-generation applications like Internet-ready mobile phones. This quantum leap in technology will very soon change the way we all send and receive information, from e-mail, paging, and voice to graphic business applications and entertainment.

Abstrak :
This book mainly focuses on the group cell architecture with multi-cell generalized coordination, contrast analysis between group cell architecture and CoMP,capacity analysis, slide handover strategy, Power allocation schemes of group cell architecture to mitigate the inter-cell interference and maximize system capacity and the trial network implementation and performance evaluations of group cell architecture.

Abstrak :
This article examines the development of cell phone technology in relation to the cultural practices, in particular the practice of making 3GP sex videos and how public responses to the spread of such video into the public domain. People who recorded their sexual activities mostly admitted that they did it spontaneously or just for fun. The majority of people who recorded their sexual activities aimed not to distribute the video. In addition, those recordings are generally not meant for commercial use, which differentiate them from porn movies. For both men and women making a 3GP video brings unique sensations and new experiences with it. Furthermore, 3GP video can be creative experiment that involves bodies and technology, a way of self-knowledge and self-reflection, and an expression of affection. Public reaction to 3GP video files which widely spread is usually negative. These videos were considered violating moral values as well as criminal acts. Most accusations are directed to the young people which allegedly having moral decadence and misused the technology. Injustice is found in the responses and the repressive attitudes given by certain individuals or institutions who feel they have the authority to judge people involved in 3GP video recording.

Abstrak :
Penelitian ini mencoba untuk melihat sejauh mana pengaruh penggunaan sarana telekomunikasi untuk dapat membantu permasalahan asimetris informasi selama kegiatan pra-pasca penangkapan dalam unit usaha perikanan, dan dampaknya bagi kesejahteraan rumah tangga nelayan di Indonesia. Studi ini menggunakan analisis data cross-section yang didapatkan dari IFLS (Indonesia Life Family Survey) dan data Potensi Desa tahun 2011 dan 2014 mengenai usaha tani, karakteristik dan kondisi ekonomi rumah tangga nelayan, penggunaan telepon seluler serta jaringan internet perkecamatan di Indonesia. Survei nasional tersebut memiliki 683 responden yang tersebar di 34 provinsi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penggunaan telepon seluler dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan rumah tangga nelayan di Indonesia sebesar 30.6%. Hasil dari regresi melalui dua tahapan OLS atau 2SLS menunjukkan bahwa rumah tangga nelayan yang memiliki telepon seluler dan menggunakannya dalam usaha perikanan akan mengalami kenaikan konsumsi perkapita dibanding rumah tangga nelayan yang tidak memiliki telepon seluler. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa pengenalan akses telekomunikasi berbasis internet dalam rumah tangga nelayan menjadi faktor yang penting dalam kesejahteraan rumah tangga nelayan.

The study attempts to find out to what extent of the influence utilization of telecommunications facilities to be able to help asymmetric information problems during pre-capture fishing activities in the fisheries business unit, and their impact on the fishermen household`s welfare in Indonesia. This study uses cross-section data analysis obtained from the IFLS (Indonesia Life Family Survey) and Village Potential data in 2011 and 2014 concerning farming, economic characteristics and conditions of fishing households, cell phone utilization and internet connections sub-district in Indonesia. The national survey had 684 respondents spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. This study found that cell phone can increase the welfare of fishermen households in Indonesia by 30.6%. The results of the regression through two stages of OLS or 2SLS show that fishermen households that have cellular phones and use it in fisheries businesses will experience an increase in per capita consumption compared to fishermen households that do not have cell phones. This shows that the introduction of internet-based telecommunications access in the fishing households is an important factor in the welfare of the fishing households.

Abstrak :
Interworking of Wireless LANs and Cellular Networks focuses on three aspects, namely access selection, call admission control and load sharing to investigate heterogeneous interworking for cellular/WLAN integrated networks. It not only reveals important observations but also offers useful tools for performance evaluation. The unique traffic and network characteristics are exploited to enhance interworking effectiveness. Theoretical analysis and simulation validation demonstrate benefits of cellular/WLAN interworking in real networks. Last but not the least, this brief highlights promising future research directions to guide interested readers.

Abstrak :
Word of mouth atau Buzz adalah suatu fenomena yang menarik di dalam dunia pemasaran dan komunikasi dan sudah banyak literatur yang menyatakan word of mouth (WOM) adalah salah satu kekuatan dalam pasar (Dye, 2000; Kotler, 2002; Silverman, 2001; Blackwell et.al, 2001). Kekuatan WOM terletak pada kemampuannya dalam memberikan rekomendasi (referral). WOM merupakan sebuah hasil dan sebuah program pemasaran yang dikelola dengan baik dan dapat memperkaya strategi komunikasi pemasaran (Dye, 2000). Walaupun demikian penggunaannya masih banyak diabaikan oleh perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia. Sejak tahun 1960an fenomena WOM mulai banyak diteliti, dan dari berbagai penelitian yang dilakukan sebelumnya teridentifikasi beberapa faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap munculnya perilaku untuk menyebarkan WOM yaitu kepuasan konsumen, opinion leaderships dan juga insentif (Dichter 1966 dalam Richins & Root-Shaffer, 1988; Arndt 1967 dalam Richins, 1984; Richins, 1984, Lowrey, 1989 Chew & Wirtz, 2001). Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menjawab permasalahan apakah perilaku WOM konsumen dipengaruhi oleh kepuasan konsumen, opinion leadership dan persepsinya terhadap insentif?. Penelitian ini bersifat eksplanatif dilakukan pada populasi pelanggan kartu Halo Telkomsel di regional Jabotabek. Sampel dipilih secara simple random sampling dan didapat 173 responden. Hasil pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel kepuasan pelanggan, opinion leadership dan persepsi terhadap insentif secara bersama-sama berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap perilaku menyebarkan WOM pada konsumen Opinion leadership menyumbangkan kontribusi yang terbesar.

This book explores the future of mobile communications networks given the increasing demands for services and higher quality, as well as the continued growth in the cellular mobile marketplace and the new private mobile radio systems. These demands will impact on the developments that are likely to occur in the near future which will continue to drive forward the technological capabilities. Abstrak :
Garansi merupakan salah satu bentuk layanan yang diberikan oleh produsen atau penjual kepada konsumen sebagai pemenuhan terhadap hak-hak serta jaminan terhadap konsumen atas barang yang dijual bebas dari kecacatan dan kerusakan yang tidak diketahui sebelumnya. Pemberian garansi ini merupakan suatu bentuk pelindungan hukum terhadap konsumen yang juga bagian dari kewajiban pelaku usaha dan tanggung jawab pelaku usaha terhadap konsumennya, di samping juga pelaku usaha wajib memberi kesempatan kepada konsumen untuk menguji dan/atau mencoba suatu barang dan/atau jasa tertentu terhadap konsumennya. Hal ini sesuai dengan amanat dari Undang-Undang Perlindungan Konsumen khususnya Pasal 7 huruf e, namun dalam praktiknya pemberian garansi oleh pelaku usaha terhadap konsumen ini tidak sepenuhnya dilaksanakan, sehingga merugikan bagi pihak konsumen. Dengan menggunakan bentuk penelitian yuridis-normatif, tipologi penelitian berupa deskriptif-analitis dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan menganalisisnya berdasarkan ketentuan yang berlaku serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk dibuatnya pengaturan khusus terkait garansi barang non elektronik dan juga menjelaskan bahwa seluruh kewajiban pelaku usaha dalam UUPK pada dasarnya berlaku termasuk juga memberikan jaminan atau garansi pada barang, maka hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dibutuhkan pengaturan lebih lanjut mengenai pemberian garansi terhadap barang khususnya mengenai daftar barang non elektronik yang wajib diberikan garansi serta diperlukannya sanksi yang tegas terhadap pelaku usaha yang tidak bertanggung jawab dalam memberikan garansi. Selain itu, dalam putusan a quo seharusnya pelaku usaha (Toko GMT Sparepart Handphone) tetap berkewajiban atau bertanggung jawab dalam memberikan garansi barang terhadap konsumen, dikarenakan pada dasarnya ketentuan kewajiban pelaku usaha dalam Pasal 7 UUPK bersifat kumulatif yang berarti seluruh kewajiban wajib dilaksanakan, dimana dengan dijalankannya satu kewajiban tidak menghilangkan kewajiban lainnya. ......Guarantee is a form of service provided by manufacturers or sellers to consumers as a fulfillment of rights and guarantees to consumers for goods sold free of defects and damage that were not previously known. The provision of this guarantee is a form of legal protection for consumers which is also part of the obligations of business actors and the responsibilities of business actors towards their consumers, in addition, business actors are obliged to provide opportunities for consumers to test and/or try certain goods and/or services on their consumers. . This is in accordance with the mandate of the Consumer Protection Act, especially Article 7 letter e, but in practice the guarantee given by business actors to consumers is not fully implemented, causing harm to the consumer. By using a juridical-normative research form, the research typology is in the form of a descriptive-analytical research with a qualitative approach and analyzes it based on applicable provisions and provides recommendations for making special arrangements related to guarantees for non-electronic goods and also explains that all obligations of business actors in the UUPK basically apply including provide guarantees or guarantees for goods, the results of this study are that further arrangements are needed regarding the provision of guarantees for goods, especially regarding the list of non-electronic goods that must be guaranteed and the need for strict sanctions against business actors who are not responsible for providing guarantees. Apart from that, in the a quo decision the business actor (GMT Sparepart Handphone Store) should still be obliged or responsible for guaranteeing goods to consumers, because basically the provisions on the obligations of business actors in Article 7 of the UUPK are cumulative which means that all obligations must be carried out, where by performance of one obligation does not eliminate other obligations.
