Krisis moneter yang terjadi sejak 1997 menyebabkan pemerintah dalam hal ini adalah Bank Indonesia mengeluarkan peraturan mengenai kecukupan modal yang harus dimiliki oleh suatu bank, atau yang lebih dikenal dengan nama Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Meskipun Bank X merupakan hasil merger dari empat buah bank dan sekarang menjadi bank dengan jumlah aset terbesar di Indonesia, Bank X tetap menjaga persentase CAR agar tetap atau bahkan melebihi standar yang telah ditetapkan oleh Bank Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan teknologi informasi, diharapkan manajemen pemenuhan CAR dapat tetap terjaga, dan top manajemen dapat dengan cepat mengambil keputusan jika terjadi sesuatu yang tidak diharapkan. Penggunaan teknologi informasi ini adalah menggunakan business intelligence atau dalam hal ini lebih tepat disebut sebagai Executive Information System (EIS).
Economical Crisis that happens from 1997 makes the government, in this case is Bank Indonesia release a policies about minimum bank capital that should be owned by a bank, and it is called Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Although Bank X consists from the merger of four banks and now becomes a bank with the highest asset in Indonesia, Bank X still keeps the CAR percentage to make it stable or over the minimum standard of Bank Indonesia. Using the information technology, hopefully the CAR can be kept appropriately, and top management can make a decision more faster if there is any unexpected event. The practice of this information technology is using business intelligence or Executive Information System (EIS).

Sebagai institusi kesehatan pemerintah yang cukup terdepan dalam hal manajemen mutu, Rumah Sakit Duren Sawit (RSDS) telah mengimplementasikan berbagai sistem manajemen mutu, diantaranya Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program dengan Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence, Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2000, Occupational Health and Safety Asessment System (OHSAS 18001), Competency Based Human Resources Management, serta sistem-sistem lainnya sebagai instrumen pemberdayaan pegawai yang merupakan sumber daya utama dalam pencapaian tujuan strategis RSDS. Masing-masing sistem manajemen mutu tersebut memiliki variabelvariabel yang sifatnya spesifik dan terus menerus berubah dari waktu ke waktu. Saat ini penyajian datanya masih tersebar dari berbagai pintu dan sumber sesuai penanggungjawabnya sehingga pengambilan informasi memakan waktu yang lebih lama serta pemantauannya belum dapat menggambarkan tren, analisis multidimensi serta profil kompetitor. Penelitian ini mencari dengan terapan-terapan Baldrige Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence yang berjalan di RSDS, namun tidak melakukan scoring terhadap variabel-variabel MBNQA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah diperolehnya informasi mengenai penyiapan implementasi Business Intelligence dengan basis Malcolm Baldrige di RS Duren Sawit pada tahun 2007. Peneliti melakukan investigasi sistem untuk mengetahui kelayakannya, kemudian dilakukan analisis sistem untuk mengetahui kebutuhan informasi yang diperlukan. Rancangan penelitian yang dipakai adalah penelitian kualitatif. Informan kunci pada penelitian ini adalah Direktur RSDS, Manager Representatif, Kabag. Tata Usaha RSDS serta Koordinator EDP. Keempat informan kunci tersebut merupakan pihak yang akan banyak menggunakan informasi yang disajikan oleh business intelligence RSDS. Hasil penelitian ini adalah implementasi business intelligence telah layak untuk dilakukan. Didapatkan sebanyak 147 variabel level informasi, dengan dominasi banyaknya informasi pada kategori Process Management pada Proses Kunci Layanan RSDS. Mayoritas ketersediaan data sudah dalam bentuk non laporan manual (81%). Dari keseluruhan proses, effort implementasi business intelligence saat ini berkisar antara 15-35%. Dari hasil penelitian ini disarankan kepada pihak manajemen untuk melanjutkan sosialisasi, pelatihan sistem informasi, menegaskan kebijakan sistem informasi yang berlaku. Data dalam bentuk laporan manual perlu dilakukan standarisasi informasi sehingga bisa dikonversi menjadi bentuk database, sedangkan data dalam bentuk file non database diperlukan penyepakatan konsistensi data untuk percepatan implementasi business intelligence. ...... As a leader in quality management system, Duren Sawit Hospital has implement plenty of Quality Management System, such as Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program, Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2000, Occupational Health and Safety Asessment System (OHSAS 18001), Competency Based Human Resources Management and other quality management system toward strategic goals of the organization. Each quality management system has many specific and changing variables. The report of each system is still disseminated according to its own departement. This condition leads to longer infotmation gathering time and incompatibility of showing trendline, multidimensional analysis and also profile of hospital?s competitor. This study looks for the implementation of Malcolm Baldrige Health Care Criteria in this hospital and gathered information on preparation of Duren Sawit Hospital on implementing business intelligence based on Malcolm Baldrige. It doesn?t conduct scoring of MBNQA variables. System investigation conducted to get the feasibility of business intelligence. System analysis conducted later to get the information needed. The study use qualitative approach with indepth interview and direct observation for primary data and hospitals archive for secondary one. The study showed that business intelligence is feasible to be developed. System analysis gathered 147 information variables and process management has the most of it. Most of data availibilty is on electronic form (database, non database). Estimation of existing implementation effort is 15-35%. Suggested effort including staff trainning, management consistency of single information system, continuing of breaking down the information variables and standarizing manual information into database and agreement on data consistency for acceleration of business intelligence implementation.

Pemenuhan order customer pada industri manufaktur ditentukan oleh ketepatan penyelesaian order produksi. Order produksi mengalami keterlambatan karena informasi permasalahan produksi terlambat diterima oleh pihak yang memiliki role dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan.Penelitian mengusulkan perubahan proses untuk mempercepat aliran informasi di area produksi. Perubahan proses membutuhkan metodologi rekayasa ulang proses bisnis melalui metode Business Process Reengineering (BPR).Penelitian ini memetakan kondisi as-is aliran informasi proses produksi menggunakan flowchart dan use case. Proses As-Is meliputi empat sub process yaitu production planning, production execution, production line issue dan reporting production performance.To-be yang diusulkan meliputi eliminasi aktifitas berulang, eliminasi aktifitas mengunggah dan mengunduh, mengintegrasikan database ERP dengan BI dan dashboard untuk reporting production performance. Usulan perbaikan dapat mengurangi waktu proses aliran informasi selama 11,64 hari dari 18,81 hari yaitu 62% dari waktu proses pada proses as-is. ......Customer order fulfillment in the manufacturing industry is determined by the 'just in time' of the completion of production orders. Production orders have been delayed due to problems in production area causing the line stop. This information delivered too late to the person in charge with the issue. The objective of this research is to improve flow of information for the production performance report. Improvement required methodology to reengineer business processes through methods of Business Process Reengineering (BPR). This research used flowchart and use case diagram to map as-is information flow of production process. The as-is production process covered into four sub-process, such as production planning, production execution, production line issues and production performance report. The to-be process proposed the elimination of repetitive activities such as download and upload activities due to production performance report, integration of ERP and BI, performance dashboards for reporting production. The proposal reduced processing time information flow for 11.64 day from 18.81 the day that is 62% of the time in the process as is.

Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) merupakan komoditi energi strategis yang ketersediaannya sangat diperlukan dan BPH Migas merupakan instansi Pemerintah yang mempunyai fungsi menjamin ketersediaan BBM dengan tugas melaksanakan pengawasan dan pengaturan terhadap entitas usaha yang di bidang BBM. Dalam kaitannya dengan fungsi pengawasan, badan usaha wajib memberikan laporan kepada BPH Migas. Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang ada saat ini, menuntut proses bisnis pelaporan Badan Usaha kepada BPH Migas dilaksanakan menggunakan aplikasi secara online. Tujuan laporan praktik keinsinyuran ini adalah melakukan pengembangan aplikasi dalam mendukung tugas BPH Migas untuk mengetahui struktur data yang dihasilkan yang selanjutnya digunakan dalam peramalan konsumsi BBM. Proses pengembangan aplikasi dilaksanakan melalui tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan, rancangan desain aplikasi, pelaksanaan pengembangan aplikasi, uji coba, deployment dan go-live. Kesimpulan dari hasil praktik keinsinyuran ini yaitu, aplikasi membantu kemudahan pelaksanaan proses bisnis, pengolahan data yang cepat, waktu pemrosesan terukur, dan struktur data aplikasi dapat digunakan lebih lanjut sebagai input dalam analisis proyeksi konsumsi BBM dengan hasil analisis proyeksi menggunakan metode causal regresi linear pada tahun 2030 sebesar ±102 juta kL, serta aspek Kesehatan, Keselamatan Kerja dan Lingkungan yang terpenuhi melalui manfaat perlindungan lingkungan dari dampak yang ditimbulkan dengan penggunaan kertas, sehingga potensi dukungan lingkungan ini akan terus termanfaatkan selama aplikasi digunakan. ......Petroleum fuel is strategic energy and its availability is necessary, while BPH Migas is a government agency that has the function of ensuring the availability of fuel by carrying out supervision and regulation of business entities. Concerning the supervisory function, business entities must provide reports to BPH Migas. Current developments in information technology require reporting to be carried out using online applications. This report aims to develop fuel reporting applications, further, the data from the application will be used to provide information and forecast fuel consumption for policy planning. The conclusion from this report is that there are many benefits obtained from the use of fuel reporting applications, which are paperless, fast and accurate data processing, measurable processing time, saving costs, efficient processes, and the produced data can be used as an input in fuel consumption projection analysis with the results of the projection analysis using the causal linear regression method in 2030 amounting to ±102 million kL, as well as health, work safety, and environmental aspects are fulfilled through the benefits use of the reporting application.

Closed Circuit TeleVision (CCTV) cameras have been increasingly deployed pervasively in public spaces including retail centres and shopping malls. Intelligent video analytics aims to automatically analyze content of massive amount of public space video data and has been one of the most active areas of computer vision research in the last two decades. Current focus of video analytics research has been largely on detecting alarm events and abnormal behaviours for public safety and security applications. However, increasingly CCTV installations have also been exploited for gathering and analyzing business intelligence information, in order to enhance marketing and operational efficiency. For example, in retail environments, surveillance cameras can be utilised to collect statistical information about shopping behaviour and preference for marketing (e.g., how many people entered a shop; how many females/males or which age groups of people showed interests to a particular product; how long did they stay in the shop; and what are the frequent paths), and to measure operational efficiency for improving customer experience. Video analytics has the enormous potential for non-security oriented commercial applications. This book presents the latest developments on video analytics for business intelligence applications. It provides both academic and commercial practitioners an understanding of the state-of-the-art and a resource for potential applications and successful practice.
