"Perkembangan industri perdagangan elektronik di Indonesia yang sebagian besar dilakukan di e-commerce dan menciptakan peluang yang sangat besar di Indonesia dan salah satu perusahaan di bidang ini adalah PT Tokopedia. Tetapi kondisi keuangan GoTo sebagai perusahaan holding Tokopedia masih negatif dan salah satu inisiatifnya adalah melakukan optimasi pengeluaran operasional. Salah satu lini divisi yang memiliki kontribusi pemasukan yang besar di Tokopedia adalah TopAds yang mengurus periklanan pada aplikasi Tokopedia. Namun, di dalam divisi ini masih ada beberapa aspek pengeluaran operasional yang masih belum teroptimasi salah satunya infrastruktur Elasticsearch. Berdasarkan permasalahan kurang teroptimasinya infrastruktur, dilakukan desain Elasticsearch menggunakan auto scale dengan mengimplementasikan orchestration dan containerization dengan memanfaatkan Kubernetes. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu true experimental design untuk membandingkan desain infrastruktur kontrol yang telah digunakan pada tempat studi kasus dan desain infrastruktur baru yang telah menggunakan orchestration dan containerization. Pengambilan data dilakukan terhadap metrik-metrik yang ada pada kedua grup tersebut seperti, CPU, latensi, dan tingkat kesuksesan memproses request dalam beberapa skenario. Hasil pengujian beberapa skenario menunjukkan Elasticsearch berbasis Kubernetes dapat menggantikan Elasticsearch berbasis VM dengan performa sistem yaitu CPU dan metrik pemrosesan permintaan yaitu tingkat kesuksesan dan latensi pemrosesan permintaan yang tidak jauh berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memodelkan sistem saat ini pada tempat studi kasus sehingga perlu dilakukan pengujian lanjutan pada tempat studi kasus agar semua dampak pemindahan sistem Elasticsearch sehingga pemutusan adopsi Elasticsearch berbasis Kubernetes tepat.

However, the financial condition still needs to improve and one way to achieve this is to optimize operational expenses. One of the division lines that significantly contributes to Tokopedia's income is TopAds, which handles advertising on the Tokopedia application. However, in this division, there are still several aspects of operational expenses that need to be optimized, one of which is the Elasticsearch infrastructure. Based on the need for more infrastructure optimization, Elasticsearch was designed using auto-scale by implementing orchestration and containerization using Kubernetes. This study uses a quantitative approach, namely true experimental design, to compare the design of the control infrastructure that has been used and the design of the new infrastructure that has used orchestration and containerization. Data was collected on the metrics in both groups, such as CPU, latency, and the level of success in processing requests in several scenarios. The test results of several scenarios show that Kubernetes-based Elasticsearch can replace VM-based Elasticsearch with system performance, namely CPU and request processing metrics, namely the success rate and latency of request processing, which are similar. The study was conducted by modelling the current system at the case study site so that further testing is needed at the case study site so that all impacts of moving the Elasticsearch system so that the adoption of Kubernetes based Elasticsearch is correct."
