"Aniline-4-sulfonate merupakan senyawa dengan gugus utama berupa cincin benzen, nitrogen dan sulfonat. Pada penelitian ini, senyawa aniline-4-sulfonate digunakan sebagai inhibitor untuk menekan laju korosi baja API 5L GRB N di dalam larutan asam sulfat 1 M. Potensiostat, alat uji kekerasan, alat uji kekasaran, mikroskop optik dan SEM digunakan untuk analisa jenis korosi, efisiensi inhibisi, mekanisme inhibisi, perubahan kekerasan dan kekasaran permukaan.
Hasil pengujian menggunakan potensiostat memperlihatkan bahwa korosi yang terjadi pada baja API 5L GRB N adalah jenis korosi merata. Penggunaan inhibitor aniline-4-sulfonate dapat menekan laju korosi dengan efisiensi sebesar 60,29% pada konsentrasi 24,06 x 10-3M dan dapat mengurangi kerusakan terhadap kekerasan dan kekasaran melalui suatu mekanisme inhibisi mengikuti isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir dengan akurasi kelinieran (R2) mendekati 1 (satu).

Aniline-4-sulfonate is compound with main groups are benzen ring, ammine, and sulfonate. On this research, aniline-4-sulfonate was used as corrosion inhibitor to reduced corrosion rate on API 5L GRB N steel in 1M sulphuric acid solution. Potensiostat, surface hardness tester, surface roughness terster, optical microscope, and SEM was used for corrosion type analysis, inhibition efficiency, inhibition mechanism, hardness and roughness damage.
Examination using potensiostat showed that corrosion on API 5L GRB N steel was general corrosion type. Aplication aniline-4-sulfonate as inhibitor can pressed corrosion rate with efficiency 60,29 % at concentration 24,06 x 10 -3M, reduced hardness and roughness damage with adsorption mechanism followed Langmuir's adsorption isotherm with linearity accuration (R2) was 0,998.

"[ABSTRAK
Pipa jenis API 5L adalah yang sering dipakai untuk sistem transportasi tersebut. Dari berbagai peraturan yang terkini masih terdapat kegagalan pada sambungan pipa tersebut sehingga sering timbulnya terjadi kebakaran akibat tumpahnya minyak dari kegagalan sambungan las. Pada saat proses pengelasan yang berdasarkan peraturan atau rekomendasi seperti prosedur pengelasan (Welding Procedure Specification - WPS) sering kali tidak dapat diikuti secara benar sehingga akan mempengaruhi struktur mikro daerah terpapar panas lasan (Heat Affected Zone - HAZ). Pada penelitian ini akan diperbandingkan perbedaan Heat Input terhadapan ketangguhan dan kekuatan sambungan las. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian tidak merusak (Non Destructive Test-NDT) seperti Radiographic Test yang berguna untuk mengetahui cacat yang mungkin timbul dalam las-lasan. Kemudian pengujian merusak (Destructive Test-DT) seperti uji ketangguhan, uji keluluhan, uji impact, uji Crack Tip Open Displacement-CTOD untuk mengetahui kekuatan dan ketangguhan dari sambungan las. Dari hasil pengujian diatas Heat Input adalah unsur utama yang harus diperhatikan dalam proses pengelasan.

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini difokuskan pada analisa korosi pipa trunk line yang
menyebabkan pipa diganti dalam waktu 8 tahun dari 15 tahun rencana desain.
Material baja API 5L Grade B dalam kondisi belum terpakai dan yang terkorosi
dianalisis secara fisik dan mekanik menggunakan uji metalografi, uji tarik, uji
komposisi kimia, Scanning electron microscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy
(SEM-EDS), Difraksi Sinar-X (XRD), kemudian uji korosi dengan metode
polarisasi. Pada sampel belum terpakai diperoleh nilai laju korosi 0,0531 mmpy
dan sampel terkorosi diperoleh nilai 0,1377 mmpy. Juga terbentuk fasa Fe3O4
(magnetite), FeS (besi sulfida) dan SiO2 (silika). Hasil data di lapangan berupa
kondisi sekitar jalur pipa trunk line dan laju korosi yang dihasilkan akibat
penurunan ketebalan menghasilkan data sisa umur pakai aktual yang dibandingkan
dengan sisa umur pakai sampel hasil pengujian.

ABSTRACT
This research focused on the trunk line corrosion analysis that has caused
pipe replacement within 8 years instead of 15 years design lifetime. Samples of
API 5L Grade B material were analyzed with physical and mechanical tests using
metallographic, tensile testing, chemical composition test, scanning electron
microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), X-Ray difraction (XRD),
then polarization corrosion test. On the new unused sample obtained corrosion Ade
of 0.0531 mmpy and corroded sample obtained 0.1377 mmpy. Also formed phase
Fe3O4 ( magnetite ) , FeS ( iron sulfide ) and SiO2 ( silica ). The results of field
data in the form of conditions around the trunk line area and the pipeline corrosion
rate generated due to decreased thickness obtained the actual remaining life data
compared with the remaining lifetime of the sample test"

This study aimed to investigate the ability of combination from Curcuma Xanthorrhiza and Eleutherine Americana extract as an environment friendly inhibitor for API 5L X42 steel in 1M HCl environment. Corrosion inhibition ability of this extract was tested using weight loss, tafel polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods, and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. FTIR test was used to investigate flavonoid and antioxidant compound that plays an important role to inhibit corrosion. In addition, formed layer on the metal surface was also studied using Langmuir isotherm adsorption methode. It can be concluded that combination from Curcuma Xanthorrhiza and Eleutherine Americana extract could be used as an alternative and environmental friendly inhibitor for API 5L X42 steel in acidid environment. "Pengaruh kombinasi ekstrak daun Physalis angulata daun ciplukan dan daun Cassia angustifolia daun jati cina sebagai inhibitor ramah lingkungan dengan perbandingan 50:50 pada baja karbon API 5L diinvestigasi. Pengujian dilakukan dalam lingkungan HCl 1M. Pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi polarisasi potensiodinamik, kehilangan berat, dan EIS. Senyawa antioksidan diinvestigasi melalui pengujian FTIR. Sesuai dengan pengujian FTIR, senyawa antioksidan yang terkandung pada kombinasi ekstrak ini adalah flavonoid. Variabel yang digunakan adalah konsentrasi inhibitor, yaitu 10 ml, 30 ml, dan 50 ml. Diketahui bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi yang diberikan, maka semakin tinggi kemampuan inhibitor dalam menginhibisi permukaan baja dimana efisiensi inhibitor paling tinggi didapatkan dengan konsentrasi 50 ml. Kombinasi ekstrak daun ciplukan dan daun jati merupakan inhibitor jenis campuran yang lebih dominan ke katodik. Metode adsorpsi inhibitor ini mengikuti adsorpsi isotherm Langmuir dengan tipe adsorpsi fisika atau physisorption.

The effect of combination of Physalis angulata leaf and Cassia angustifolia leaf extract as green inhibitor with a 50:50 ratio for API 5L steel was investigated. This experiment was carried in 1M HCl solution by using different concentrations as variables which is 10 ml, 30 ml, and 50 ml inhibitor extracts. This experiment was evaluated using potentiodynamic polarization, EIS, and weight loss. The antioxidant compound was investigated using FTIR and was found to be flavonoid. It was found that the capability of the inhibitor to inhibit the steel surface from the environment increases with increasing concentration, which 50 ml concentration is found to have the best efficiency of all concentrations. Combination of physalis angulata leaf and cassia angustifolia leaf extract is found to be a mixed type inhibitor with predominant cathodic effectiveness. The adsorption of this inhibitor on the steel surface was predominantly through physisorption and obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm."

"Peningkatan kebutuhan bahan penghambat korosi yang aman dan ramah lingkungan menjadi perhatian utama, terutama dalam industri berbasis baja karbon rendah. Salah satu penyebab utama kerusakan pada material ini adalah korosi yang dipercepat oleh penggunaan larutan asam seperti H2SO4. Salah satu cara untuk mengurangi laju korosi dari material adalah dengan menambahkan inhibitor organik dari ekstrak tumbuhan yang mengandung senyawa bioaktif. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan penambahan variasi konsentrasi inhibitor dari ekstrak akar pepaya (Carica papaya L.) dengan melarutkan ke dalam larutan 1M asam sulfat (H2SO4), dimana asam sulfat merupakan senyawa yang digunakan untuk acid pickling pada baja. Dilakukan uji Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) untuk mengetahui komposisi kimia dari material uji sesuai dengan spesifikasi material API 5L dan uji Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) untuk mengetahui senyawa yang terkandung dalam ekstrak akar pepaya yang akan digunakan sebagai inhibitor pada baja karbon rendah API 5L grade B. Dilakukan juga pengujian Linear polarisasi untuk mengetahui efisiensi laju korosi pada penambahan variasi ekstrak inhibitor akar pepaya. Kemudian, dilakukan pengujian Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) untuk menginterpretasikan sistem variasi konsentrasi inhibitor akar pepaya pada rangkaian listrik. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa material uji sesuai dengan spesifikasi API 5L grade B, ekstrak akar pepaya mengandung senyawa bio aktif flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, dan tanin yang terbukti menurunkan laju korosi dengan variasi konsentrasi dari 4 ml sampai 20 ml terbukti menurunkan laju korosi dari 1,172 mm/year menjadi 0,074 mm/year dengan efisiensi maksimum 93,68% pada konsentrasi 20 ml.

The increasing need for safe and environmentally friendly corrosion inhibiting materials is a major concern, especially in low carbon steel-based industries. One of the main causes of damage to these materials is accelerated corrosion by the use of acidic solutions such as H2SO4. One way to reduce the corrosion rate of the material is to add organic inhibitors from plant extracts containing bioactive compounds. In this study, the addition of various concentrations of inhibitors from Akar Pepaya extract (Carica papaya L.) was carried out by dissolving it in 1M sulfuric acid (H2SO4) solution, where sulfuric acid is a compound used for acid pickling on steel. Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) test was conducted to determine the chemical composition of the test material in accordance with API 5L material specifications and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) test to determine the compounds contained in Akar Pepaya extract which will be used as an inhibitor on API 5L grade B low carbon steel. Linear polarization testing was also carried out to determine the efficiency of the corrosion rate in the addition of akar pepaya inhibitor extract variations. Then, Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) testing was carried out to interpret the system of variations in Akar Pepaya inhibitor concentration in electrical circuits. The test results show that the test material is in accordance with API 5L grade B specifications, Akar Pepaya extract contains bioactive compounds flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and tannins which are proven to reduce the corrosion rate with a concentration variation from 4 ml to 20 ml which is proven to reduce the corrosion rate from 1,172 mm/year to 0,074 mm/year with a maximum efficiency of 93,68% at a concentration of 20 ml."

"Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh air formasi berinhibitor terhadap perilaku korosi dan laju korosi baja API 5L Grade B. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Weight loss dan Polarisasi Potensiodinamik. Uji celup dilakukan dengan variasi waktu 8, 11, dan 14 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi baja API 5L dalam larutan air formasi berinhibitor mengalami pemasifan dan laju korosi semakin menurun seiring pertambahan waktu. Hasil pengujian XRD menunjukkan bahwa produk korosi yang dihasilkan adalah Fe3O4.

A research has been conducted to know the influences formation water with presence of inhibitor to the corrosion behaviour and corrosion rate API 5L Grade B steel. Weight loss and Potentiodynamic Polarization methodology has been carried out. An immersion test with various time 8,11, and 14 days has been done. This research has show that passivity happened and the corrosion rate has decreased as the increased of time. The corrosion product of Fe3O4 has been known as the result of XRD test. "
