Pembuatan kapal membutuhkan biaya manufaktur yang cukup tinggi, salah satu penyebab hal ini adalah tingginya biaya bahan baku material yang akan digunakan untuk pembuatan kapal tersebut. Untuk mengurangi biaya manufaktur pembuatan kapal namun tetap memertahankan fungsinya, salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan adalah melakukan substitusi material. Pemilihan material menggunakan Metode Optimasi Algoritma Genetika, metode ini bekerja sesuai dengan Teori Evolusi Charles Darwin. Induk yang telah dikawinsilangkan akan menghasilkan individu baru yang telah mengalami proses mutasi. Dalam proses ini, besarnya angka mutasi akan memengaruhi kualitas individu baru. Setelah dilakukan substitusi material, akan dilakukan optimasi ketebalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan biaya optimal tanpa mengurangi dari fungsi dari pelat tersebut. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan Visual Studio C++, dengan 50 generasi variasi angka mutasi 5%; 7,5%; dan 10%. Hasil penelitian akan menampilkan pengaruh angka mutasi, jumlah generasi terhadap optimasi biaya. Pada hasil optimasi dengan mutasi 5% mampu mengurangi biaya material hingga 34%, hasil optimasi mutasi 7,5% mampu mengurangi biaya material hingga 34,5%, dan hasil optimasi mutasi 10% mampu mengurangi biaya material hingga 36%. ......Shipbuilding requires a fairly-high manufacturing cost, one of the reasons for this is the high cost of raw materials used for shipbuilding. To reduce shipbuilding manufacturing costs but still maintain its function, one solution that can be done is to substitute materials. Material selection using Genetic Algorithm Optimization Method, this method works according to Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution. The parent that has been crossed will produce a new individual that has undergone a mutation process. In this process, the number of mutations will affect the quality of new individuals. After material substitution, thickness optimization will be carried out. This study aims to obtain the optimal cost without reducing the function of the plate. Tests were carried out using Visual Studio C++, with 50 generations of variation in the 5% mutation rate; 7.5%; and 10%. The results of the study will show the effect of mutation rate, number of generations on cost optimization. The optimization results with 5% mutations can reduce material costs up to 34%, 7.5% mutation optimization results can reduce material costs up to 34.5%, and 10% mutation optimization results can reduce material costs up to 36%.

This book covers a variety of topics related to the Industry 4.0 concept, with a special emphasis on the efficiency of production processes and innovative solutions for smart factories.
