Abstrak :
Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana sebuah lingkungan berkonsep lsquo;enabling environment rsquo; dapat mengakomodasi mobilitas dari penyandang mobility impairments. Proses pemahaman ini ditelusuri melalui studi mengenai pembentukan lsquo;enabling environment rsquo; ditinjau dari elemen-elemen akses berdasarkan pendekatan accessible design dengan standar spesifikasi elemen berdasarkan the American with Dissabilities Act ADA dan DIN 18040. Elemen akses yang dapat merespon alat bantu yang digunakan penyandang dan dimensi ruang yang tersedia, akan menentukan tingkat aksesibilitas lingkungan. Elemen akses yang sesuai dengan standar spesifikasi, akan menentukan kualitas aksesibilitas lingkungan. Tingkat dan kualitas aksesibilitas menjadi parameter derajat akomodasi atau degree of the enabling environment. Contoh kasus dilakukan dengan menganalisis bangunan eksisting secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil dari analisis untuk mengetahui derajat akomodasi pada bangunan tesebut.

This undergraduate thesis focuses on understanding how an environment concept of 39 enabling environment 39 can accommodate the mobility of persons with mobility impairments. The process of understanding is traced through the study of creating the 39 enabling environment 39 in terms of the access elements based on accessible design with the specification standard of the elements by the American with Dissabilities Act ADA and DIN 18040. The access elements that can respond the mobile devices and dimensions of the available space, will determine the level of accessibility of the environment. The access elements in accordance with the specification standard, will determine the quality of the accessibility of the environment. The level and quality of accessibility become into parameter degree of the enabling environment. Examples of case is done by analyzing the existing building qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the analysis are determine the degree of accommodation of the building.
