Hydrodeoxygenation of palm oil and Jatropha curcas oil over NiMo/ZAL (nickel molybdenum/zeolit alam Lampung) catalyst was investigated under temperatures of 375°C and 400°C and H2 pressure of 15 bar in a semibatch stirred autoclave reactor. NiMo/ZAL catalyst was prepared using a rapid cooling method. NiMo/ZAL characterization revealed a crystal size of 70.07 nm, surface area of 12.25 m2/g, and pore size and pore volume of 9.83 Å and 0.0062 cm3/g, respectively. The hydrodeoxygenation removal pathway of palm oil and Jatropha curcas oil over NiMo/ZAL catalyst was primarily achieved through decarboxylation. Under hydrogen pressure of 15 bar and temperature of 375°C, palm oil and Jatropha curcas oil can be converted into paraffin chains (from n-C15 up to n-C18) by a decarboxylation reaction that produces water, methane, and COx gases as byproducts and contains some undesirable reactions. These byproducts can produce alkene bonds that form chains different from those in conventional diesel fuel. The conversion was 80.87%, selectivity was 52.78%, and yield was 45.66%. The hydrodeoxygenation reaction catalyzed by NiMo/ZAL catalyst was found to be suitable for removing oxygen and producing paraffin chains; this increased the heating value and stability of renewable diesel fuel.

Asam 12-hidroksistearat (12-HSA) merupakan salah satu komponen utama pembuatan sabun untuk pengental (thickener) gemuk, yang sampai saat ini masih diimpor. 12-HSA dapat diperoleh melalui reaksi hidrogenasi minyak jarak (castor oil) dengan menggunakan bantuan katalis heterogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh garam prekursor nitrat dan klorida terhadap aktivitas katalis Ni/ZAL dalam reaksi hidrogenasi minyak jarak. ZAL diaktivasi lalu dipresipitasi dengan variasi garam prekursor dan loading inti aktif nikel (10% dan 20%). Hasil karakterisasi BET dan XRD menunjukkan bahwa katalis Ni/ZAL 10% turunan prekursor klorida memiliki luas permukaan tertinggi dan ukuran kristal terkecil serta memiliki aktivitas paling baik dibandingkan katalis lainnya dengan konversi hidrogenasi minyak jarak sebesar 19%.
ABSTRACT
12-Hidroxy Stearat Acid is one of the import component of grease thickener in Indonesia. 12-HAS was producted by hydrogenation reaction from castor oil with heterogen catalytic. This research?s purpose is to know the effect of nitrate and chloride precursor for Ni/ZAL catalyst activity in hydrogenation of castor oil. Lampung natural zeolit (ZAL) was activied and prisipitated by variation of precursor and nickel loading (10% and 20%). BET and XRD caracterization show that Ni/ZAL 10% derived chloride precursor has the highest surface area and the smallest crystal diameter then has the highest activity than other catalyst with 19% hydrogenation reaction convertion.

Dalam Penelitian ini ingin diketahui keefektifan proses kombinasi fotokatalisis dan adsorpsi dengan TiO2 dan zeolit alam Lampung (ZAL). Alat yang digunakan berbentuk kotak dilengkapi dengan lampu UV-A, panel aluminium berlapis TiO2-ZAL, dan kipas penyedot. Panel aluminium dikombinasikan dengan fotokatalis TiO2 dan adsorben ZAL melalui metode penyemprotan. Hasil pengujian kinerja alat penangkap nyamuk menunjukkan bahwa panel yang dilapisi TiO2-30% ZAL memberikan kondisi yang maksimal untuk menarik nyamuk dan mendegradasi gas asetaldehida dan toluena. Kombinasi proses yang mengintegrasikan fotokatalisis dan adsorpsi sangat menjanjikan untuk diterapkan pada alat perangkap nyamuk fungsi ganda ini. ......This study wanted to know the effectiveness of the combination photocatalysis and adsorption with TiO2 and Lampung's natural zeolite. The instrument used is a box equipped with UV-A light, TiO2-Lampung's natural zeolite coating aluminum panels, and the suction fan. Aluminum panels was combined with TiO2 photocatalysis and Lampung's natural zeolite adsorbent through spraying methods. The results of performance from testing tool in catching mosquitoes showed that TiO2-Lampung's nature zeolite coated panles gave the maximum condition in attracting mosquitoes and degrading acetaldehyde and toluene gas. The combination of photocatalysis and adsorption which is integrated is very promising to be applied on the mosquito double trap functioned tool.
