"Konfusianisme merupakan ajaran yang masih dianut oleh masyarakat Cina di seluruh dunia, tidak terkecuali oleh etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia. Dalam Ajaran Konfusianisme terdapat ajaran pokok kebajikan mengenai kebaktian 孝Xiao. Selain itu, terdapat pula dua prinsip pokok yaitu prinsip Wulun 五论 dan Wuxing 五行 . Prinsip Wulun mengatur hubungan dan perilaku antar manusia, sedangkan prinsip Wuxing berperan dalam pembentukan moral manusia. Ketiga ajaran Konfusianisme ini memiliki keterkaitan satu sama lain. Tugas akhir ini akan membahas mengenai tindakan apa saja yang mencerminkan kebajikan Xiao, serta peranan Wulun dan Wuxing dalam pembentukan moral di kehidupan keluarga etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia. Berdasarkan kuesioner yang diisi para informan, penelitian kualitatif ini akan mengungkapkan bagaimana ajaran Konfusianisme tersebut dijalankan oleh etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia. Melalui metode deskriptif analitis, penelitian ini juga akan menjelaskan peranan penting prinsip Wulun dan Wuxing dalam pembentukan moral di lingkungan keluarga etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia.

Confucianism is a teaching that is still adhered by Chinese people around the world including Chinese Ethnicity in Indonesia. In confucianism teaching there is teaching core virtue about filial piety (孝 Xiao) . Moreover, there are also two main principles such as the Wulun 五 论 and Wuxing 五行 principles. The Wulun principle arranges relationship and behavior between humans, while the Wuxing principle plays a role in shaping human moral. These three confucianism teaching are related to one another. This study will discuss what behavior reflects Xiao’s virtue, as well as the role of Wulun and Wuxing in shaping morals in the life of Chinese ethnic families in Indonesia. Based on the questionnaire filled out by the informants, this qualitative research will reveal how confucianism is practiced by Chinese ethnic in Indonesia. Through the analytical descriptive method, this study will also discuss the important role of Wulun and Wuxing’s principles in shaping moral in the Chinese ethnic families in Indonesia."

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pengaruh ajaran Konfusianisme terhadap terciptanya praktik footbinding di Cina
sehingga menjadi sangat populer pada masa akhir dinasti Song (960-1297 M). Footbinding pertama kali dipraktekkan oleh
seorang selir istana bernama Yao Niang sebelum ia mementaskan tarian teratai atas titah Kaisar Li Yu. Kaki mungil yang
berbentuk bunga teratai tersebut akhirnya menjadi sangat popular pada masa Dinasti Song. Semua anak perempuan harus
membebat kaki mereka sejak usia dini tanpa bisa menolaknya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui mengapa
praktik footbinding dapat bertahan demikian lama pada masa Cina kuno serta seberapa besar pengaruh ajaran
Konfusianisme dalam praktik ini. Metode yang dipakai adalah metode penelitian kepustakaan. Praktek footbinding dapat
terus ada karena mendapat dukungan dari ajaran Konfusianisme yang tercermin dalam Wu Lun (无论 ), San Cong (三从),
Si De (四德) dan Zheng Ming (正名). Ajaran-ajaran Konfusianisme tersebut mengharuskan perempuan untuk selalu patuh
dan tunduk terhadap segala sesuatu yang diperintahkan padanya. Salah satu bentuk kepatuhan perempuan adalah membalut
kaki mereka hingga mencapai ukuran sekecil mungkin atau dalam istilah barat disebut sebagai footbinding. Praktik ini
begitu popular sehingga menjadi tren di masa Cina kuno
ABSTRACT This study discusses the influence of Confucianism on the creation of footbinding practices in China that became very
popular in the end of the Song dynasty (960-1297 AD). Footbinding was first practiced by a palace concubine named Yao
Niang before she performed the lotus dance at the command of Emperor Li Yu. The small feet which shaped like a lotus
eventually became very popular during the Song Dynasty. All the girls had to bandage their feet at an early age without
being able to reject. The purpose of this study is to determine why the practice footbinding can survive so long in the time
of ancient China and how big the influence of Confucianism was in this practice. The method used is a method of research
literature. Footbinding practice continuously exist due to the support of Confucianism which was reflected in Wu Lun (无
论), San Cong (三 从), Si De (四德) and Zheng Ming (正名). The Confucian teachings required women to obey everything
that was ordered to her, one form of female compliance is bandaged their feet to achieve the smallest possible size or in
