Reaktor berkatalis pelat sejajar merupakan salah satu reaktor untuk dekomposisi katalitik metana dimana reaktor ini memiliki pressure drop yang rendah serta hasil karbon nanotube yang seragam (well-aligned). Dalam rangka merealisasikan suatu reaktor komersial, diperlukan beberapa informasi mengenai perilaku fluida di dalam reaktor tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai hidrodinamik, pola aliran serta fenomena perpindahan dan mengetahui pengaruh kondisi operasi terhadap kinerja dari reaktor berkatalis pelat sejajar. Dalam penelitian ini akan divariasikan temperatur, laju alir, tekanan serta komposisi umpan untuk melihat pengaruh variabel-variabel tersebut terhadap naiknya pembentukan karbon yang diwakili oleh penurunan konsentrasi metana. ......Parallel-plate-structured-catalyst reactor is one of the reactors for the catalytic decomposition of methane which has low pressure drop and the carbon nanotubes are uniform (well-aligned). In order to build a commercial reactor, we need some information about the behavior of the fluid within the reactor. This research aimed to obtain information about the hydrodynamics, flow pattern and transport phenomena and the effect of operating conditions on the performance of the reactor. In this study, some variable will be vary such as temperature, flow rate, pressure and composition of the feed to see the impact of these variables to increase the formation of carbon are represented by decrease concentration of methane.

This book introduces readers to the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for solving transport phenomena-flow, heat and mass transfer-in a systematic way. Providing explanatory computer codes throughout the book, the author guides readers through many practical examples, such as: - flow in isothermal and non-isothermal lid-driven cavities; - flow over obstacles; - forced flow through a heated channel; - conjugate forced convection; and - natural convection. Diffusion and advection-diffusion equations are discussed, together with applications and examples, and complete computer codes accompany the sections on single and multi-relaxation-time methods. The codes are written in MatLab. However, the codes are written in a way that can be easily converted to other languages, such as FORTRANm Python, Julia, etc. The codes can also be extended with little effort to multi-phase and multi-physics, provided the physics of the respective problem are known.

This text provides a teachable and readable approach to transport phenomena (momentum, heat, and mass transport) by providing numerous examples and applications, which are particularly important to metallurgical, ceramic, and materials engineers. Because the authors feel that it is important for students and practicing engineers to visualize the physical situations, they have attempted to lead the reader through the development and solution of the relevant differential equations by applying the familiar principles of conservation to numerous situations and by including many worked examples in each chapter. The book is organized in a manner characteristic of other texts in transport phenomena. Section I deals with the properties and mechanics of fluid motion; Section II with thermal properties and heat transfer; and Section III with diffusion and mass transfer. The authors depart from tradition by building on a presumed understanding of the relationships between the structure and properties of matter, particularly in the chapters devoted to the transport properties (viscosity, thermal conductivity, and the diffusion coefficients). In addition, generous portions of the text, numerous examples, and many problems at the ends of the chapters apply transport phenomena to materials processing.

It questions the use of dynamic molecular models in the continuum scale providing alternative solutions to open problems in the literature. It provides a physical-mathematical understanding of the differential equations that govern fluid flow and energy transport, serving as a reference to the application of smoothed particle hydrodynamics in continuum fluid mechanics and transport phenomena. This book presents the physical-mathematical modelling of the SPH method and provides examples of applications in continuum mechanics with numerical results and discussions. It defends concepts of continuum mechanics and the application of boundary treatment techniques that do not violate the laws of physics.
