Abstrak :
This dissertation discusses the forms of pottery found on the temple sites in the 8th-10th century in Central Java and the reconstruction of its use in the ceremony. The temple sites which has been reviewed in this research are 19 sites. Through formal analysis, it can be known that many pottery found on temple sites are some containers that commonly found in almost all temple sites. The container is a cup, celupak , a jar, a bowl, a vase, a pot and a plate. Based on the nineteen temple sites which has been reviewed, can be known that there is a location of pottery in the temple sites mostly found in the foundation of temple and in the yard of temple. Through analogy with the sources of reliefs, inscriptions, and ethnographies were known the pottery that found in the foundation of temple is the remnants of the garbhadhana ceremony , the ceremony associated with the establishment of the temple. The pottery found in the yard of temple is suspected to be the remnants of the puja ceremony, which is a ceremony related to the use of the temple
