"Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi berkembang sangat pesat. Salah satu teknologi yang berkembang pesat dan jamak digunakan adalah SMS (Short Message) yang dapat digunakan melalui telepon selular. Dalam rangka memberikan pelayanan prima kepada civitas akademika khususnya mahasiswa serta prosentase jumlah mahasiswa STMIK MDP yang menggunakan telepon selular (+ 90% ) memberikan peluang untuk memberikan layanan melalui sebuah aplikasi sistem informasi akademik menggunakan teknologi SMS. Pengguna dalam hal ini mahasiswa dapat mengakses seluruh informasi yang disediakan dengan hanya menggunakan sebuah identifikasi unik misalnya nomor pokok mahasiswa (NPM). Fitur pelayanan dan informasi yang dapat diberikan oleh aplikasi ini antara lain informasi untuk mahasiswa baru, registrasi, kalender akademik, jadwal kuliah dan daftar nilai mahasiswa (DNS). Perancangan aplikasi sistem informasi akademik berbasis teknologi SMS ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pelayaanan cepat dan prima yang muaranya adalah kepuasan pengguna khususnya mahasiswa.

"PT. Agara Cipta Mandiri (ACM) adalah perusahaan aggregator SMS. Dari seluruh jasa dan layanan yang ada, Jasa pengiriman SMS dipilih menjadi ujung tombak perusahaan dalam meraup pendapatan, salah satu alasannya adalah belum meratanya coverage internet membuat SMS masih reliabel sebagai pengiriman pesan karena SMS tidak membutuhkan jaringan internet. Pendapatan PT. ACM cenderung menurun pada 3 tahun terakhir. Tujuan dari peneliitan ini untuk menghasilkan strategi SI/TI untuk PT. Agara Cipta Mandiri. Dari analisis permasalahan pada penelitian ini diketahui bahwa strategi SI/TI tidak selaras dengan Visi dan Misi perusahaan. Perumusan strategi SI/TI pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Ward and Peppard dengan menggunakan instrumen- instrumen analisis Value Chain, SWOT, Six Force Porter, PEST. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 7 usulan sistem informasi, dimana 1 diantaranya sudah ada dan perlu dilakukan peningkatan dan 5 lainnya harus diadakan sistem informasi baru untuk mendukung Visi dan Misi organisasi.

The IS/IT strategy is not harmonized with the company's vision and mission, according to the analysis of the problems in this study. The Ward and Peppard method is used to formulate the IS/IT strategy in this study, which includes the utilization of Value Chain, SWOT, Six Force Porter, and PEST analysis instruments. This results of the study conducted 7 suggested information systems, one of which already exists and needs to be enhanced, and the other five of which must be created from scratch to serve the organization's vision and goal."
