Abstrak :
This is the long-awaited third edition of Chomsky’s outstanding collection of essays on language and mind. The first six chapters, originally published in the 1960s, made a groundbreaking contribution to linguistic theory. This new edition complements them with an additional chapter and a new preface, bringing Chomsky’s influential approach into the twenty-first century. Chapters 1–6 present Chomsky’s early work on the nature and acquisition of language as a genetically endowed, biological system (Universal Grammar), through the rules and principles of which we acquire an internalized knowledge (I-language). Over the past fifty years, this framework has sparked an explosion of inquiry into a wide range of languages, and has yielded some major theoretical questions. The final chapter revisits the key issues, reviewing the “biolinguistic” approach that has guided Chomsky’s work from its origins to the present day, and raising some novel and exciting challenges for the study of language and mind.

Abstrak :
Dalam game perang multipemain, terdapat situasi yang dapat terjadi secara spontan. Hal tersebut dapat memicu respons reaktif, seperti penggunaan kata-kata vulgar. Contohnya dapat ditemukan pada video yang diunggah oleh Milyhya di YouTube. Penggunaan kata-kata vulgar dapat dianalisis berdasarkan makna dan emosi dengan menggunakan pendekatan semantik dan psikolinguistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis pola-pola dari data yang ditemukan. Penelitian ini menemukan 16 data kosakata vulgar, sembilan di antaranya dianalisis lebih lanjut. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) medan set terbagi atas makian dan sapaan; (2) kosakata vulgar dapat mengacu ke binatang, aktivitas, keadaan/sifat, profesi, atau anggota tubuh; (3) seluruh kosakata vulgar memiliki konotasi negatif; (4) terdapat lima emosi yang dapat diekspresikan (marah, sedih, jengkel, terkejut, nikmat), masing-masing dengan pola dan latar belakangnya; (5) kata 'anjing' dapat mengekspresikan empat emosi, dan; (6) emosi jengkel dapatdiekspresikan dengan enam kosakata vulgar. ......In multiplayer first-person shooter games, there are situations that can happen spontaneously. This can cause reactive responses, such as the use of harsh words. The examples can be found in videos uploaded by Milyhya on YouTube. The use of harsh words can be analyzed by its meaning and emotional state by using semantic and psycholinguistic approach. This research usedqualitative descriptive method to analyze patterns from the data found. This research found out that there are 16 different forms of harsh words used in the video, nine of which were analyzed further. The results were: (1) the set field can be divided to curse and greeting; (2) the harsh words can refer to animal, activity, condition/state, profession, or body parts; (3) all the harsh words have negative connotation; (4) there are five emotions that can be expressed from the use of harsh words (anger, sadness, irritated, surprised, joy), each emotions have its patterns and situational backgrounds; (5) the word 'anjing' can be used to express four emotions, and; (6) irritated can be expressed by six different harsh words.

Abstrak :
The collected chapters in this volume present an overview and state-of-the-field of traditional and recently developed methodological approaches to the study of bilingual reading comprehension. It critically reviews and examines major findings from classical behavioral approaches such as the visual moving window, rapid-serial visual presentation (RSVP), and eye-tracking, as well as newly developing neuropsycholinguistic methodologies such as Event-Related Potentials (ERPs), and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI).  Written to address a timely topic, Methods in Bilingual Reading Comprehension Research updates the field of bilingual reading by critically examining the contributions of the various behavioral and technologically-based reading techniques used to understand psychological processes underlying written language comprehension. Each topic is covered first from a theoretical, and then from an experimental, viewpoint. Moreover, the volume contributes to the development and establishment of Bilingual Reading as a subfield of bilingual sentence processing and fills a significant gap in the literature on bilingual language processing and thought.    Significantly, Methods in Bilingual Reading Comprehension Research presents an overall view of some of the typical psycholinguistic techniques and approaches, as well as proposing other possible tasks that may prove viable in investigating such theoretical issues as bilingual lexical ambiguity resolution, or how bilingual speakers might resolve multiple sources of potentially conflicting information as they comprehend  sentences and discourse during the communicative process.
