"The book describes state-of-the-art product service systems, and provides a framework to categorize the knowledge surrounding these systems. It discusses the evolution and spread of the servitization model across industries, and explores its current and most relevant applications in industry. Further, the book highlights the model’s strategic value for business and management, operations, and sustainability and shows readers how to enhance service design and implementation.
The contributors provide the theory behind servitization as well as the evidence for it, and report practical and industrial lessons learned. Illustrations, charts, and tables effectively guide readers through real-world and potential applications of product service systems, and case studies describing how companies have innovated and developed award winning business models are also included. Moreover, the book exhibits the selection and implementation policies for product service systems in different industrial environments.
Providing comprehensive information on the product service system phenomenon, this book is essential reading for researchers and practitioners in the product service and business industries. It is also of interest to students and lecturers in business strategy and service management, as it shows the latest trends shaping the modern contexts in which companies operate."

The waste problem in Indonesia has become a big problem and has caused environmental disturbances. Based on data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry regarding marine waste monitoring, the weight of fabric waste in 15 provinces in 2017 to 2019 increased by 10 times from 0.61% to 7% and ranks the 4th highest percentage of waste. Based on these problems, we need a way to minimize waste optimally so a circular business model that can solve these problems is needed. This research focuses on designing a circular business model based on Product-Service System for apparel companies using fuzzy-AHP and multi-layer QFD methods as well as knowing the readiness of company implementation and the willingness of consumers to use services. The proposed service models generated in this research are repair and redesign, take-back systems, participatory design and customization, independent design, and consultation. The company's readiness for the implementation of repair and redesign and consulting services has reached a high level of readiness, while other service models exist that require more preparation to be implemented. The results regarding the consumer's willingness to use the service model are already very high, which indicates that the company has the potential to benefit from the application of this circular business model."

"This open access book summarizes research being pursued within the Manutelligence project, the goal of which is to help enterprises develop smart, social and flexible products with high value added services. Manutelligence has improved Product and Service Design by developing suitable models and methods, and connecting them through a modular, collaborative and secure ICT Platform. The use of real data collected in real time by Internet of Things (IoT) technologies underpins the design of product-service systems and makes it possible to monitor them throughout their life cycle. Available data allows costs and sustainability issues to be more accurately measured and simulated in the form of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Analysing data from IoT systems and sharing LCC and LCA information via the ICT Platform can help to accelerate the design of product-service systems, reduce costs and better understand customer needs. Industrial partners involved in Manutelligence provide a clear overview of the project’s outcomes, and demonstrate how its technological solutions can be used to improve the design of product-service systems and the management of product-service life cycles."
