Abstrak :
Meningkatnya permintaan sena berkembangnya ragam baru layanan telekornunikasi menyebabkan perlunya perbaikan pada infi'astruktur jaringan untuk dapat memberikan layanan yang lebih baik terutama pada pelanggan bisnis sebagai sumber pemasukan terbesar penyelenggara Telekomunikasi. Kemajuan teknologi telel-comunikasi yang begitu pesat telah memungkinkan pengelola telekomunikasi memberikan pelayanan yang lebih baik sesuai dengan dinamika masyarakat yang serba ingin cepat ,tepat, mudah dan fleksibei. Khususnya di jaringan akses, jaringan telekomunikasi yang berhubungan Iangsung dengan pelanggan, telah ditemukan konsep bam unmk meningkatkan kualitas transmisi dan agar mampu mendukung berbagai ragam pelayanan telekomunikasi di tingkat akses. Konsep tersebut adalah penggunaan teknologi transmisi Syncrhonous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) yang dapat diintcgrasikan dengan teknologi serat optik Passive Oprical Network (PON) yang akan memeberikan banyak keunggulan baik dari peningkamn kapasitas, kualixas jaringan maupun umuk rnngantisipasi layanan baru B-ISDN, disamping Iayanan POTS, 64 Kbit/s, payphane, leased line/ 2Mbit/s, ISDN-BRA, ISDN-PRA dll.
