This book takes a different approach. It is intended to provide the reader a foundation of basic concepts relevant to using and managing information. This text is not intended to provide a comprehensive treatment on any one aspect of MIS, for certainly each aspect is itself a topic of many books. This text is not intended to provide readers enough technological knowledge to make them MIS experts. It is not intended to be a source of discussion of any particular technology. This text is written to help managers begin to form a point of view of how IS will help or hinder their organizations and create opportunities for them

Abstrak :
This volume constitutes the proceedings of the 5th IFIP WG 8.1 Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling, held in Rostock, Germany, during November 7-8, 2012. The focus of the PoEM conference series is on improving the understanding of the practice of enterprise modeling by offering a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge between the academic community and practitioners from industry and the public sector. The 15 papers presented, reflect different facets of enterprise modeling, including organizational and social issues as well as methodological and technical aspects. The papers are organized in five thematic sessions on enterprise modeling, business modeling, process modeling, enterprise architecture, and model-driven development.

Abstrak :
This book analyses state-of-the-art techniques in business process management as drivers of advanced entrepreneurship, financial management, supply chain management, and sustainability management. The role of management in a rapidly-changing environment and the use of innovative methods and techniques to address and solve key management problems are also explored.
