Abstrak :
Ilaa Samaa merupakan film dokumenter karya Waad Al-Kateab mengenai perang di Suriah yang ditayangkan pertama kali dalam festival film South by Southwest di Texas, Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan dampak perang Suriah terjadi di kota Aleppo dengan melalui unsur-unsur intrinsik dan representatif yang muncul dalam film Ilaa Samaa. Untuk itu penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan fokus pada adegan-adegan yang menggambarkan representasi dampak perang Suriah dalam film. Teori strukturalisme dan representasi digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk memaparkan representasi dampak perang yang terdapat dalam struktur film Ilaa Samaa. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan sebagai berikut: (1) Film Ilaa Samaa menampilkan dampak perang dalam tiga representasi, yaitu dampak perang secara fisik, dampak perang secara emosional, dan dampak perang secara sosial. (2) Representasi dampak perang secara fisik diperlihatkan dengan jatuhnya korban jiwa, hancurnya bangunan dan infrastruktur kota, juga sekolah anak. Dampak perang secara emosional diperlihatkan dengan kondisi psikis seperti rasa tidak aman, guncangan jiwa, dan kebimbangan. Sementara itu, dampak sosial perang Suriah ditandai dengan meningkatnya rasa kemanusiaan dan solidaritas warga Aleppo. ......Ilaa Samaa is a documentary by Waad Al-Kateab about the war in Syria which was premiered at the South by Southwest film festival in Texas, United States in 2019. This study aims to describe the impact of the Syrian war that occurred in the city of Aleppo through the intrinsic and representative elements that appear in the film Ilaa Samaa. For this reason, the author uses qualitative research methods with a focus on scenes that describe the representation of the impact of the Syrian war in the film. The theory of structuralism and representation is used in this study to describe the representation of the impact of war contained in the structure of the film Ilaa Samaa. From the results of the study obtained the following conclusions: (1) The Ilaa Samaa film shows the impact of war in three representations, namely the physical impact of war, the emotional impact of war, and the social impact of war. (2) The representation of the physical impact of war is shown by the loss of life, the destruction of buildings and city infrastructure, as well as children's schools. The emotional impact of war is shown by psychological conditions such as insecurity, mental shock, and indecision. Meanwhile, the social impact of the Syrian war is marked by the increasing sense of humanity and solidarity of the people of Aleppo.
