Abstrak :
Menurunnya kontribusi sektor perindustrian bersamaan dengan menurunnya jumlah perusahaan di industri karena harga bahan baku yang meningkat menimbulkan dugaan bahwa harga bahan baku sebagai salah satu penyebab semakin berkurangnya kemampuan perusahaan untuk bertahan. Studi ini menguji pengaruh perubahan harga bahan baku pada kemampuan bertahan perusahaan. Meningkatnya kegiatan impor dalam dekade terakhir menunjukkan bahwa industri manufaktur tergantung pada bahan baku impor. Hal ini menyebabkan industri sangat rentan terhadap guncangan ekonomi global. Beberapa industri yang bergantung pada bahan baku impor mungkin tidak bertahan dalam periode krisis. Dengan menggunakan data tingkat perusahaan dari Survei Tahunan Produsen untuk periode 2008-2012 dan metode estimasi probit, hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa perubahan harga bahan baku impor secara signifikan mengurangi probabilitas kelangsungan hidup perusahaan. Ukuran dan usia perusahaan masih sebagai penentu utama kemampuan bertahan perusahaan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa perusahaan yang padat sumber daya alam memiliki kemampuan bertahan yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan industri lainnya. ......The declining contribution of the industrial sector in conjunction with the declining number of companies in the industry due to increasing raw material prices leads to the expectation that the price of raw materials as one of the causes of the reduction in the company's ability to survive. This study examines the effects of changes in raw material prices on the survival of the firm. Increased imports in the past decade shows that the manufacturing industry depends on imported raw materials. It has caused the industry extremely vulnerable to global economic shocks. Some of the industries that depend on imported raw materials may not survive in the crisis period. Using firm-level data from the Annual Survey of Manufacturers for the period 2008-2012 and probit estimation method, the results showed that changes in import prices significantly reduces the probability of firm survival The size and age of the company is still a major determinant of the firm survival consistent with previous studies. In addition, the study also found that resources intensive's firms have a greater probability to survive than others.

Abstrak :
This research analyzes the impacts of raw material export restriction on firm performance: value-added, labor, and productivity growth, as well as firm survival ability in the rattan-based final good industry in the 1995-2004 period, which are distinguished based on firm size. This study uses probit method for the survival model, and the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) for the growth model. Data obtained from Medium and Large Scale Industries Statistics (ISIC 33131 and 33212). The result shows that export restriction can improve survival ability of the medium and large-sized firm, and have a positive impact on value-added and labor growth of the medium-sized firm.

Studi ini membahas pengaruh dari kebijakan larangan ekspor bahan baku terhadap kinerja perusahaan: pertumbuhan nilai tambah, tenaga kerja, dan produktivitas, serta kemampuan bertahan perusahaan barang jadi rotan di dalam industri pada periode 1995-2004, yang dibedakan berdasarkan ukuran perusahaan. Studi ini menggunakan metode probit untuk model kemampuan bertahan perusahaan dan Ordinary Least Square (OLS) untuk model pertumbuhan. Data diperoleh dari Statistik Industri Besar dan Sedang (ISIC 33131 dan 33212). Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan larangan ekspor bahan baku rotan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan bertahan perusahaan sedang maupun perusahaan besar, serta juga akan berdampak positif terhadap pertumbuhan tenaga kerja dan nilai tambah perusahaan sedang.
