ABSTRACT
Sports medicine has played a role in athlete safety, strengthening physical ability, improving sports performance, and players' life extension. Recently, sports medicine is adding some roles to provide lifetime healthcare for athletes including children in the development stage, active players and retired players. Concussion in sport, the effects of exercising in childhood on bone and joint health, and female athlete triad are described in this review paper. Some proposals for protection of the athletes' lifetime healthcare are also discussed.

Abstrak :
Latar Belakang.
Background. Female Athlete Triad (FAT) remains as a common problem on adolescent female athletes, which is divided in three major aspects, such as low energy availability, menstrual dysfunction, and low bone mass density. Studies showed higher risk of FAT in individual sports athletes, focusing in endurance, aesthetic, and weight classification. The purpose of this study was to determine the associations between type of sports and FAT risk stratification in adolescent female athletes Method. This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted on 88 adolescent female athletes aged 15-18 years at the education and training center, taking place from August to September 2019. Each subject will follow the interview process, physical examination, anthropometry, examination of bone mass density with Dual X -Ray Energy Absorption (DXA) then classified using FAT risk assessment score Results. From 88 subjects, 75% of athletes with low risk of FAT were found, 23.9% of moderate risk of FAT, and 1.1% of high risk of FAT. Gymnastics, pencak silat, and volleyball are sports with moderate to high risk of FAT compared to other sports. Based on FAT risk stratification, no significant relationship was found between the types of sports-individual and group (p = 0.609) Conclusion. The proportion of low risk FAT is more found in the athletes in this study, however further education needs to be done about the risk of FAT and the importance of calorie intake to athletes, coaches and athletes parents. There is no association between the type of sports and FAT risk stratification.
