"[This text provides an analysis and investigation of the most essential areas of environmental theory and policy, including international environmental problems. The approach is based on standard theoretical tools, in particular equilibrium analysis, and aims to demonstrate how economic principles can help to understand environmental issues and guide policymakers. Current topics including climate change, overfishing and integrated approaches to environmental policies are carefully analyzed in this framework, and a multitude of practical examples from various parts of the world is presented., This text provides an analysis and investigation of the most essential areas of environmental theory and policy, including international environmental problems.

This study seeks to see the impact of economic growth on waste generation, representing the environment's quality. This study uses waste generation data, GRDP data, and formal sector workers from 2017-2020 at the district-city level obtained from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS-Statistics Indonesia), with a fixed-effect model and panel data regression methods. It was found that the proxies for the percentage of formal workers and GRDP per capita did not significantly affect waste generation, but for the type of food waste on Java Island, GRDP per capita positively and significantly affected the waste generation. Meanwhile, regarding the existence of policies, Regional Policies and Strategies in Waste Management (JAKSTRADA) are statistically significant in reducing the type of plastic waste generation in areas with a policy of limiting single-use plastic bags. From this study, we can conclude that the government's commitment to waste management in Indonesia is still lacking in the presence of regulations and their enforcement. For this reason, incentives and disincentives are needed from the government as an initial mover so that producers and consumers are willing to change their waste management system."

"[After the agricultural and industrial revolution, China is creating the third growth wave based on sustainability. This greening of the Chinese economy offers threats and opportunities for Western organizations. Getting a piece of this new cake requires strategic innovations in both policy and corporate strategy. Based on the theory of strategic innovation and their extensive practical experiences in doing business with China, the authors propose potential areas and activities for strategic innovation in the West in response to Green China., After the agricultural and industrial revolution, China is creating the third growth wave based on sustainability. "This book focuses on the notion of the environmental sustainability of the economy. The Sustainable Development Goals, formulated by the UN, led to the formation of a concept of the environmental sustainability of the economy. This concept implies the harmony of economy and environment, achieved due to the support for the SDGs in the economy. This book is original due to its reconsidering the environmental sustainability of the economy from the position of crises.
The theoretical significance of the book consists in the development of an anti-crisis approach to the provision of the environmental sustainability of the economy: responsible nature use based on digital markets and smart governance. The proprietary approach allows for the comprehensive description of the potential of the leading technologies—artificial intelligence (AI), robots, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain—to support—during their use in smart governance—crisis management of the environmental sustainability of economy.
The book’s practical significance is due to the description and detailed discussion of the modern international experience of responsible nature use given the specifics of developed and developing countries. The anti-crisis approach to the provision of the environmental sustainability of the economy is based on digital markets: FinTech, EdTech, GovTech, AgroTech, and EnergyTech, the practice of which is described in the book with the help of multiple examples from the international experience and case studies.
The book is aimed at scholars who study environmental economics. In this book, they find an innovative view of the environmental sustainability of the economy in its close connection with economic crises."

The impact of trade openness on environment is not easy to be figured out. The scale and technique effect of trade are tend to have the opposite effect, while the composition effect is depend on the comparative advantage of a country. One of the way to avoid the world emission level is the ratification of Kyoto protocol in 1997.
This study aims to analyze the impact of trade openness and Kyoto protocol on the CO2 emission level. This research employs macroeconomics data in G20 countries from 1996 to 2008 with OLS analysis using gravity model of G20 countries trade flow as instrument variable.
The estimator results show that trade openness has positive and significant effect on CO2 emission level. Meanwhile, Kyoto protocol has insignificant effect on CO2 emission level indicating the ineffectiveness of the protocol implementation.
