After the monetary crisis, regionalism is no longer aimed at inward strengthening but bad spread to outside the region such as China, India, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. There are questions about the pattern of regionalism and what the strategic options that available to deal with such changes in regionalism. Furthermore, through analysis of the process from the establishment of ASEAN regionalism up to present, researcher has identified several factors that affect the change in regionalism such as non-state actor (multinational corporation). [This book investigates whether the effects of economic integration differ according to the size of countries. The analysis incorporates a classification of the size of countries, reflecting the key economic characteristics of economies in order to provide an appropriate benchmark for each size group in the empirical analysis of the effects of asymmetric economic integration. The formation or extension of Preferential Trade Areas (PTAs) leads to a reduction in trade costs. This poses a critical secondary question as to the extent to which trade costs differ according to the size of countries. The extent to which membership of PTAs has an asymmetric impact on trade flow according to the size of member countries is analyzed by employing econometric tools and general equilibrium analysis, estimating both the ex-post and ex-ante effects of economic integration on the size of countries, using a data set of 218 countries, 45 of which are European. , This book investigates whether the effects of economic integration differ according to the size of countries. The analysis incorporates a classification of the size of countries, reflecting the key economic characteristics of economies in order to provide an appropriate benchmark for each size group in the empirical analysis of the effects of asymmetric economic integration. ABSTRACT
ASEAN leaders proclaimed to create an ASEAN Economic Community by 2015. But achieving the target requires cooperation and coordination both within and among the ten ASEAN economies. Currently, with countries having varying considerations towards complete liberalization, protectionism still persists in certain sectors of the economies. A lot of work needs to be done in addressing the domestic reforms, the gaps in infrastructure, the lack of human resources and adequate institutions. Moreover, it is the businesses whose decisions and actions will help the region to achieve an effective integration. The policymakers have vital roles to play in raising the engagement of the private businesses in ASEAN matters. As time is limited, one way for ASEAN is to focus on "core" elements of integration and implement them earnestly in the shortest possible time. The rest of the process, as envisaged in the AEC Blueprint, can follow beyond 2015. This book examines the state of readiness of the member countries for regional integration and discusses the challenges to ASEAN businesses. It gives policy recommendations to address some of the issues faced by the key stakeholders.

Trade policies nowadays must take into account that economies are now more open. This paper uses vector autoregression (VAR) model to assess the economics growth has been stimulated by export performance, although domestic demand has contributed significantly. Indeed, our research indicates that exports also pay a significant role in affecting variation in domestic demand, and thus sugggests the importance for indonesia of being more competitive in international trade to maintain economic growth

Setelah IJEPA, Price-cost Margins (PCM) Indonesia berfluktuasi.
