Abstrak :
Powerline Communication (PLC) Systems intents to use the mains network in vehicles for high-speed data
transmission. Carrier frequencies in the range of MHz are required to establish data rates of some megabits per second.
In this paper, typical reference channels extracted from channel measurements are presented and computation results of
their capacities according to Shannon’s theorem are presented. Furthermore, the effect of limitations of frequency
range and power spectral density of transmitted signal on achievable capacity is investigated. This paper outlines an
assessment for theoretical channel capacity and achievable data rates of vehicular PLC transmission schemes. Finally,
EMC (Electromagnetics Compatibility) constraint according to CISPR 25 (Comite International Special des
Perturbations Radioelectrique – The International Special Committee on Radio Interference) is deeply considered.

Abstrak :
Skripsi ini membahas tentang bagaimana mengevaluasi sebuah sistem proteksi petir pada perangkat telekomunikasi seperti BTS. Sistem proteksi petir sendiri terdiri dari proteksi eksternal, sistem pembumian dan proteksi internal. Metode bola bergulir digunakan sebagai cara dalam menentukan daerah proteksi petir sesuai dengan jarak sambaran terdekat. Kemudian permasalahan proteksi dianalisis secara matematis menggunakan pendekatan probabilitas yang dihubungkan dengan tingkat proteksi, tingkat bahaya dan jumlah sambaran petir per tahun. Gangguan EMC pada bangunan dianalisis berdasarkan tingkat proteksi dan tingkat bahaya juga. Sehingga akhirnya dapat ditentukan hubungan antara jumlah sambaran petir per tahun, sistem proteksi dan keandalan sistem terhadap EMC.
The focus of this study is about how to evaluate a lightning protection system in Telecomunication equipment example BTS. Lightnng protection system consist of external protection, grounding system and internal protection. Rolling sphere method is used to determine lightning protection area which is based on nearest striking distance. Thus problems due to protection is analyzed mathematically using probability method which is connected with protection level, danger level, and quantity of lightning strike per years. EMC disturbance on building is analyzed based on level protection and level danger. In the end, we can determine correlation between quantity of lightning strike per years, protection system and reliability system against EMC.

This book systematically explains the fundamentals of system-level electromagnetic compatibility and introduces the basic concept of system-level electromagnetic compatibility quantification design. The topics covered include the critical technologies in the top-down quantification design of electromagnetic compatibility, quantification design of system-level electromagnetic compatibility, evaluation methods and application examples, quality control and application examples of electromagnetic compatibility development process, and real-world engineering example analysis of electromagnetic compatibility.
The book proposes a top-down system-level electromagnetic compatibility quantification design method and is the first book to describe in detail how to quantitatively evaluate and predict system-level electromagnetic compatibility performance. It includes abundant engineering examples and experimental data demonstrating the usage and results of the top-down quantification design methods of system-level electromagnetic compatibility.
It enables readers to obtain a thorough understanding of the theory and methods of system-level electromagnetic compatibility quantification design as well as the methodologies for engineering practice.
