This study focuses on technology-mediated communication network used by journalists to gather news. In the Actor-Network Theory, technology is given the role as non-human actors forming the network. Roles are taken into account, like that of the human actors. The process by which an actor joins the network is seen as a translation, a process of assembling human actors and non-human actors. Translation assigns the role of each actor, it may fail or succeed. The success of translation is characterized by a network that is stable and lasting. This qualitative research with case study of the network of journalist community mailing list is to find out how journalists construct a network as well as the reasons for assembling and maintaining relationships. The study then found out not only about the actor network, but also the actor-sharing network and a network that can not be dissolved, or irreversible.

Hand tractor utilization in Indonesia keeps growing as a result of a more limited time available for farming and shortage of animal and human resources for soil tillage. One of the farmers' problems is that the process of innovation adoption of hand tractor remains low due to static role of farmers, communication network. Carried out in Neglasari village (Bojongpicung Sub-district, Cianjur Regency of West Java province) this study shows that in the sociometric communication network, the interaction in innovation adoption of hand tractor tend to form open-shape,star-shape or cicle -shape network. Generally, communication is a two-way connection and dominated by public figures with a star role. Farmers' communication network in relation to connectedness , diversity, integration, and openness value may be classified into middle and low category. Times needed by farmers to adopt technology innovation of hand tractor are as follows: innovators 31,4% early adopters 23,7%, early majority 11,2% and laggards 11,2%. Regression analysis indicates that farm productivity has a positive influence on diversity value (0,017) and integration value (0,213) but has a negative influence on connectedness value (-0.017) and integration value (-0.472) and openness level (-0.642). Cost of land preparation has a positive effect on diversity level (0,162) and cosmopolitanism level (0.173) and has the highest contribution on communication network at the connectedness (0.204). Farm gate price of paddy has a negative effect on connectedness level (-0.067),but a positive influence on communication network at diversity level (0.087) connectedness level (0.040) and openness level (0.080).

This final year research project aims to build a multihop communication network wireless type that are expected to be adaptive, which can make adjustment to the changes that occur in the configuration. In order to provide the adaptive nature, this communication network will be able to do configuration process by itself. To support this self-configuration process, we will use a kind of intelligent system form in the process of network building. This will be done by using of mobile robot colony that is equipped with adequate communication devices. Robots will work together to build the expected configuration of wireless-robot network. In this research, several algorithms are being developed and expected to complete the problems in the case of two or many communication devices or sources within the network. These algorithms are Chained Shortest Distance, Prior to the Nearest, and Position by Line, which implement the usage of the autonomous robots to find solutions to the given problems. In addition to that, this final year research project will be divided into two stages where in the first time, we discussed the design of self-configured multihop communication network in the case with two sources of communication. At the next stage, we discussed the design of self-configured multihop communication network in the case with many sources of communication. In the next phase of research, the author developed a simulation in order to objectively evaluate the algorithm that are designed. Through this simulation, we will see the performance of algorithms developed in terms of success rate and the running time which are obtained. One of the results concluded in this research is that the algorithm Prior to the Nearest and Position by Line are adequately applied to solve the handling of self-configured multihop communication network problems.

ABSTRACT
One of the success of Peacekeeping Process is determined by a representative ego which positions itself as a structural hole which becomes communication bridge between the conflicting parties. Such ego plays its role in vertical and cross channel simetric of communication network by using persuasive communication. Further on this peacekeeping context, ego which positions structural hole may not maintain its position as a structural hole to reach the success of Peacekeeping. Thus this research can provide conceptual inputs about structural non-hole in peacekeeping communication network which can critizise the structural hole of Ronald Burt.
