Skripsi ini berusaha membahas tentang bagaimana masa bersiap sebagai fenomena historis berlangsung di wilayah Bogor, yaotu Kabupaten dan Kota Bogor. Secara garis besar, masa bersiap di Bogor terjadi karena kemampuan pemerintah Keresidenan Bogor saat itu belum memadai untuk mengendalikan dan mempertahankan ketertiban dan keamanan di wilayahnya sendiri. Gangguan keamanan terebut diperkeruh oleh tindakan tentara Gurkha dan NICA yang hendak mengembalikan kekuasaan Hindia Belanda di Indonesiadan aksi kudeta yang dilakukan oleh kelompok Direktorium. Setelah selesai mengatasi gangguan-gangguan internal dan memperoleh pengakuan dari Sekutu, Bogor telah mengalhiri Masa Bersiapnya untuk melanjutkan perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan Indonesia.

Abstract
The thesis is trying to explain how Bersiap as a jistorical phenomenon happened in Kabupaten and Kota Bogor. In general, Bersiap was happening in Bogor because the government of Residence Bogor at that time was unable be control and defend the _rust en orde_ at ist own area. Many disturbances was caused by Gurkhas and NICA officers who wanted to raise the country of Netherlands-Indies again, also the coup d_etat done by group called Directory. After finished the disturbances and got Alliance_s acknowledgement, the Residence of Bogor has ended its Bersiap to continue our struggle to defend the independence of Indonesia.

Sejak Proklamasi Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia terjadi beberapa peristiwa yang mengakibatkan banyak perlakuan diskriminatif dari beberapa kelompok seperti orang berkulit putih, etnis tionghoa, dan siapa saja yang dianggap sebagai pembela Belanda sehingga banyak terjadi pertumpahan darah. Masa 'bersiap' adalah masa yang dimulai sesaat setelah Indonesia merdeka pada 17 Agustus 1945 dan mencapai puncak kekerasannya dua bulan kemudian. Bagaimana perlakuan terhadap masyarakat kulit putih sebagai kelompok yang paling terdampak di Surabaya merupakan permasalahan penelitian ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian sejarah dengan menggunakan sumber primer dan sekunder. Sumber primer yang digunakan adalah tujuh dokumen Jack Boer tahun 1945 dari 125 eksemplar dokumen resmi pemerintah Belanda dan Hindia Belanda koleksi Archief van Tranen project yang memuat keterangan saksi dan dokumen lain yang menggambarkan keadaan pada masa bersiap. Sumber lainnya adalah surat kabar Belanda dan Australia. Penelitian ini melihat dari sudut pandang barat. Selama masa "bersiap", kekejaman terhadap orang kulit putih tanpa memandang jenis kelamin atau usia terus terjadi. Kekerasan yang terjadi pada masa persiapan merupakan akibat dari sistem politik Jepang untuk mewujudkan Asia Raya bersama Asia Timur Raya. Kejadian di Surabaya pada bulan Oktober 1945 merupakan kelanjutan dari sistem militer dan propaganda yang digaungkan pada masa pendudukan Jepang. Tidak hanya kebencian terhadap orang kulit putih, Masa Bersiap di Surabaya pada bulan Oktober 1945 juga terjadi akibat kekhawatiran akan kedatangan NICA melalui pasukan Sekutu. ......Since the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia has occurred several events that resulted in many discriminatory treatments from several races, anyone who was considered as a defender of the Dutch so that there was a lot of bloodshed. The ‘bersiap’ period was the time that began shortly after Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945 and reached the peak of violence two months later which was full of violence. When the‘bersiap’ white people was treated unfairly by being boycotted, tortured, and killed. The research method used is a historical research method using primary and secondary sources. The primary source used was 7 Jack Boer documents in 1945 out of 125 official documents from the Dutch and Dutch East Indies Government of Archief Van Tranen Project which contained witness statements and other documents that described the situation during the ‘bersiap’ period. Other sources are Dutch and Australian newspapers. During the "\‘bersiap’ period, cruelty to white people regardless of sex or age continues to occur. Violence that occurred during the preparation period was a result of the Japanese political system to realize Raya Asia with the Great East Asia. What happened in Surabaya in October 1945 was a continuation of the military and propaganda system echoed during the Japanese occupation. Not only hatred of white people, the period of ‘bersiap’ in Surabaya in October 1945 also occurred due to concerns about the arrival of NICA through the Allied forces.

Abstrak :
This paper examines the relationship between transnationalism, cultural preservation, and transgenerational trauma in the United States (US) Indo population. The information being analysed was compiled by the author from two separate surveys which took place between 2012 and 2021. This data was initially intended to act as a census for the scattered US Indo community however the salient information necessitated that the census be ongoing and that another survey be developed to measure effects of lingering trauma which has been passed down generationally. The two surveys invited Indos from around the globe to participate in data collection, which led to the development of the first Indo population maps of the twenty-first century and hidden impacts of transgenerational trauma. The trauma of the Indo experience during and after World War II affected the first, second, and third generations both similarly and differently with expressions being exacerbated as the population dispersed globally.
