Abstrak :
An active Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag is a low-power device, which is often used as a tracking device, where operation of this tag will be in remote areas from an electrical power source. Therefore, this device requires an independent power source. To meet these needs, solar power may be used, which can be accessed anywhere there is sunlight. Supercapacitors (SC) are used as an energy source to support a solar power system. The advantage of supercapacitors, as an energy storage device, is their long life cycle that means more charging and discharging processes compared to a conventional battery. The design and fabrication of a solar power system for an active RFID tag with supercapacitors as the energy storage will be covered in this paper.

Tag Aktif RFID merupakan suatu divais dengan daya yang rendah. Tag ini seringkali digunakan sebagai perangkat tracking devices, pada pengoperasiannnya tag ini akan berada di wilayah yang jauh dari akses sumber tenaga listrik. Oleh karena itu divais ini membutuhkan suatu sumber tenaga yang mandiri. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut tenaga surya dapat digunakan karena tenaga surya yang berasal dari cahaya matahari terdapat dimana saja. Suatu media penyimpanan energi dibutuhkan untuk menunjang tenaga surya sebagai sumber tenaga, untuk peran tersebut, superkapasitor dapat digunakan. Kemampuan lifecycle superkapasitor yang panjang menjadi keunggulan superkapasitor sebagai media penyimpanan energi, dimana superkapasitor dapat menjalani proses charge dan discharge dengan jumlah yang jauh lebih banyak dibanding baterai. Pada skripsi ini akan dibuat rancang bangun dari implementasi panel surya sebagai sumber energi listrik dengan superkapasitor sebagai media penyimpan energi untuk Tag Aktif RFID. ......Active RFID Tag is a device with low power consumption. This Tag are used to be a tracking devices that operate on remote area and far from electrical power source. Thus, this device need an independent power source, in order to achieve that, a solar cell can be used because the sunlight can be found anywhere. To support a solar cell as a power source, an energy storage are needed and to fullfill that need, a supercapacitor can be used. The advantages of supercapacitor as an energy strorage are its long lifecycle that means a lot more amount of charging and discharging process compared to conventional battery. On this thesis, the design and fabrication of solar cell implementation as electrical power source with supercapacitor as energy storage for Active RFID Tag will be covered.
