Abstrak :
In this article the author examines the problem of ethnicity and the Indonesian nation-state. He asserts that Indonesia's history is marked by the tension between the country's ideological basis - as started in the preamble to its constitution- and the structural foundations stipulated in the chapters of that constitution. Working to achieve unity in diversity through the power granted him by the constitution, Soekarno applied the geopolitics based upon the Blut und Boden Theorie. However, each and every ethnic group that was to be united met the criteria of Blut und Boden and others. The concentration of power upon the president, reinforced by the Javanese conception of power, continued with Soeharto; eventually leading to the reform movement wherein in the many smaller groups in the union have begun to speak out. The author concludes that the centralization of power of the past must be replaced by a system with broad regional autonomy. While remaining true to the principle of the constitution, the distribution of economic power among the regions serve also as a safeguard against future crisis.

Abstrak :
Teknologi adalah salah satu simbol keberhasilan manusia dalam eksistensinya di alam ini; dengan teknologi, manusia berhasil mengambil jarak, bahkan membedakan dirinya dari alam dan makhluk lainnya. Teknologi menjadi "alat" untuk menjelaskan keberadaan manusia sebagai makhluk yang menjelaskan realitas di alam ini. Oleh karena itu, teknologi tidak hanya digunakan sebagai alat pemuas kebutuhan manusia dan pengetahuan, akan tetapi lebih daripada itu, teknologi menjadikan manusia seperti "tuhan". Teknologi di abad ke-21 merupakan "jalan" agar manusia dapat menampilkan kekuatannya, yang seolah-olah kekuatan itu hanya bisa dibandingkan dengan kekuatan Tuhan yang umumnya digambarkan sebagai Sumber dari segala sesuatu atau Ada Yang Tertinggi. Itulah sebabnya, motif manusia dalam memperkembangkan teknologi di abad ke-21 ini adalah motif untuk menjadi seperti"tuhan".

Technology is one of the symbols of success in human existence in this nature; with technology, people have been successful in taking the distance, even to distinguish himself from nature and other beings. Technology become a "tool" to explain human existence as beings, which explains this reality on the nature. Therefore, technology is not only used as a tool of human needs satisfaction and knowledge, but more than that, technology makes the man as "god". Technology in the 21st century is a "way" to showing the human power. The power seems that it can only be compared with the power of God that is generally described as a Source of all things or It"s the Top. That is why, the motive in development of human technology is to be as "gods".
