"Perumahan muslim merupakan konsep perumahan yang banyak dijumpai di Kota Depok. Konsep ini dijadikan sebuah strategi pemasaran oleh pengembang untuk menarik konsumen di kalangan muslim. Di sisi lain, fenomena ini dikhawatirkan oleh sebagian orang sebagai bentuk sekat-sekat sosial yang terjadi dalam skala kota. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana perumahan muslim bisa menjadi preferensi dan pilihan hunian seseorang-mengetahui bagaimana lifestyle seorang muslim bisa mempengaruhi preferensi huniannya sehingga menjadi hunian pilihan- serta peran arsitektur sendiri dalam konteks ini. Pembahasan mengenai preferensi dan pilihan hunian ini menggunakan teori sosial habitus dari Michael Grenfeel Pierre Bourdieu dan teori strukturasi dari Anthony Giddens. Metode yang dilakukan adalah kualitatif dengan kajian literatur, observasi langsung, penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara. Skripsi ini menemukan bahwa identitas diri sebagai seorang muslim mepengaruhi lifestyle dan menjadi penentu preferensi dan pilihan huniannya sedangkan arsitektur memiliki peran untuk menjadikan perumahan muslim sebagai lingkungan yang bersifat semi-permeabel, bukan sekat-sekat kaku di skala kota.

Muslim housing community is a housing concept that is easily found in Depok City. This concept is used as a marketing strategy by developers to attract consumers among Muslims. On the other hand, this phenomenon is feared by some people as a form of social barriers that occur on an urban scale. This thesis aims to see how Muslim housing can be a person's preference and choice - knowing how a Muslim's lifestyle can influence his residential preferences so that they become residential choices - and the role architecture in this context. This discussion of housing preferences and choice uses the social theory of habitus from Michael Grenfeel Pierre Bourdieu and structuration theory from Anthony Giddens. The method that used in this thesis is qualitative with literature review, direct observation, questionnaires and interviews. This thesis found that the identity of a Muslim influences lifestyle and determines his housing preferences dan choice while architecture has a role to make Muslim housing community as a semi-permeable environment, not rigid barriers on an urban scale."

"This paper examines the role of rainfall in the urban development of Kenya. The rainfall characteristics have been analysed and their influence on agricultural and urban development assesed. It is noted that since Eldoret is one of the rapidly expanding towns in Kenya located in highly potential agriculturall region, variability of rainfall and drought can seriously affect urban development as farmers in the hinterland will abandon their farms and migrate to the town thus creating food shortage. Secondly, in times of drought, the water supply problems in the town will be exacerbated as it depends on surface water source. The tempo of rural-urban migration will be speeded up and this will create more socio-economic problems. "
