Dengan semakin besarnya peranan telekomunikasi dalam era globalisasi ini, menyebabkan semakin meningkatnya permintaan terhadap jasa penyelenggaraan telekomunikasi. Keadaan ini mengakibatkan semakin besar peranan fungsi pemasaran dalam perusahaan penyelenggara jasa telekomunikasi. Oleh karena itu sangat diperlukan adanya pelaksanaan pemeriksaan operasional yang dilakukan oleh pemeriksa intern dalam rangka penilaian efisiensi dan efektifitas pemasaran tersebut. Dalam penulisan skripsi ini, penulis menggunakan dua metode penelitian, yaitu studi lapangan dan studi kepustakaan. Studi lapangan dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan karyawan terkait dengan bidang pembahasan, penelitian catatan-catatan perusahaan, dan pengamatan langsung jalannya kegiatan selama beberapa waktu. Sedangkan penelitian studi kepustakaan dilakukan melalui telaah kepustakaan dengan mempelajari bahan-bahan bacaan yang ada di buku-buku, artikel-artikel, dan majalah. Dalam pelaksanaan pemeriksaan operasional perusahaan diadakan evaluasi sistem pengendalian intern dengan tujuan untuk menentukan sampai sejauh mana sistem itu dapat diandalkan. Sebagai alat pengendalian digunakan beberapa kebijakan dan prosedur. Penilaian efektifitas fungsi pemasaran perusahaan tersebut dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan antara target penjualan dan penjualan aktual setiap tahunnya. Penilaian efisiensi dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan antara biaya pemasaran dengan hasil penjualan setiap tahunnya. Pelaksanaan pemeriksaan operasional pada PT.X telah dilaksanakan sesuai dengan prosedur yang ada dan berdasarkan analisa hasil pemeriksaan disimpulkan bahwa PT.X cukup efektif dan efisien dalam kegiatan operasinya. Hal, ini ditunjukkan dengan tercapainya target yang telah ditetapkan dan semakin menurunnya biaya pemasaran yang terjadi dengan tanpa adanya penurunan penjualannya. Dan dampak pelaksanaan pemeriksaan operasional pada penilaian efisiensi dan efektifitas pemasaran PT.X sangatlah besar. Karena dengan adanya pemeriksaan operasional mengakibatkan peningkatan efisiensi dan efektifitas fungsi pemasaran perusahaan.
