ABSTRAKJurnal ini membahas tentang kasus diskriminasi yang dilakukan oleh warga Lenteng Agung terhadap Lurah Susan terkait dengan isu SARA. Yang menjadi permasalahan adalah dengan diangkatnya Lurah Susan memunculkan demo di kalangan Warga Lenteng Agung. Jika mengacu kepada konsep social cognition, terjadinya demo tersebut disebabkan adanya errors in social thinking berupa biased preception. Berdasarkan hal itu, yang menjadi pertanyaan penulis adalah apa yang dilakukan Lurah Susan untuk mengcounter prejudice terhadap dirinya untuk mendapatkan kesan positif. Dari hasil pembahasan, penulis mendapatkan bahwa cara yang dilakukan Lurah Susan sudah cukup efektif dalam membangun kesan positif, dibuktikan dengan diperolehnya penghargaan dan sanjungan oleh Gubernur DKI.
ABSTRACTThis journal discusses about discrimination case done by Lenteng Agung citizen against Lurah Susan related to SARA (Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Social Groups). The main problem was the inaguration of Lurah Susan, Lenteng Agung citizen started a demonstration. Referring to social cognition concept, the demonstration occurent was caused by errors in social thinking in form of biased preception. Based on the research, arise a question on what Lurah Susan did to encounter the prejudice towards her to get a positive image. ABSTRAKSeiring dengan perkembangan di dunia IT dan internet, game online pun menjadi permainan yang semakin populer. Awalnya, game online identik dengan permainan laki-laki. Namun saat ini sudah merambah ke perempuan. Fenomena ini menjadi dasar yang kuat bagi perempuan untuk menunjukkan potensi dirinya. Dari fenomena ini muncul pertanyaan, sejauh mana game online menjadi sarana yang memfasilitasi gamer perempuan melakukan aktualisasi diri. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan isi permainan dan hasil wawancara, terungkap bahwa melalui game online, gamer perempuan merasa tertantang untuk meningkatkan potensi diri, manfaat lain adalah rasa kepuasan diri bisa setara dengan laki-laki dalam meraih prestasi sebagai gamer perempuan.;
ABSTRACTWith the advances of IT and Internet, online games becomes more popular. Originally, online game is identical with the game for men. But today online game has expanded to women gamer. This phenomenon becomes a solid foundation for women to show their potential. This phenomenon raises a question, to what extent online game has become a means to facilitate women gamers, perform self-actualization. Based on the observation of games’ content and interviews, revealed that through online game, women gamers feel challenged to improve their potential. ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi komunikasi saat ini membawa sejumlah perubahan dalam perilaku manusia. Perubahan tersebut mencakup cara berpikir, cara berperilaku, dan berbagai aspek lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan eksistensi dalam diri remaja saat ini. Dengan berkembangnya media online, terdapat perubahan perilaku yang cukup spesifik bagi individu khususnya dalam cara bagaimana individu tersebut mempersepsikan atau memaknai diri mereka sendiri. Selanjutnya saat ini muncul aplikasi seperti Instagram yang dapat menampilkan foto dan video, yang mengambarkan citra diri individu. Masyarakat terutama kaum muda di kalangan mahasiswa yang dinamis, cenderung senang untuk mengekspresikan diri melalui media online yang dianggap dapat meningkatkan eksistensi diri mereka. Dalam tulisan ini, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Untuk mengumpulkan data, penulis menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada sejumlah responden. Dari hasil pengumpulan data, ditemukan bahwa remaja saat ini gemar menggunakan aplikasi Instagram untuk berbagi momentum agar keberadaannya lebih dianggap terkait dengan eksistensi diri mereka. Lebih lanjut, foto yang dimasukkan ke Instagram antara lain adalah foto tentang kegiatan sehari-hari bersama teman-teman mereka, termasuk juga foto berupa selfie.

With the rise of online media, there are specific behavior changes for individuals especially in how individuals perceive themselves. For now adays, then came an application such as instagram that can display photos and video which can form an individual image. The society, especially for youth, among the students who dynamic tending to pleased to express their self through the media online that are considered to be an increase in existence. The results of research method found that, most of the teenager is using Instagram to share their moment in instagram more considered and related to their self existence.
