Abstrak :
Dengan mengambil diskursus media massa, studi ini bertujuan untuk melihat proses pengambilan keputusan dalam newsroom Koran Tempo pada pemberitaan kasus korupsi Wisma Atlet Palembang. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menemukan berbagai interaksi agen baik yang bersifat allocative resources maupun yang bersifat authoritative resources, hal tersebut sekaligus memperlihatkan kemampuan agen menciptakan struktur baru dalam praktik sosial pemberitaan. Sementara di sisi lain, struktur juga memperlihatkan kemampuannya dalam newsroom, di mana keputusan berita tidak mengabaikan aturan-aturan jurnalistik yang sudah ditetapkan. Kendati demikian, pada prosesnya newsroom tidak dapat melepaskan diri dari kekuasaan ekonomi dan politik. Adapun faktorfaktor yang berperan di dalamnya yaitu pemahaman sebagai profesi wartawan, kode etik jurnalistik, koran tempo dalam era konvergensi media, kebebasan jurnalistik dalam undang-undang pers.
By taking a mass media discourse, this study aims to find out a decision-taking process in a newsroom of Koran Tempo on the press of a corruption case of Wisma Atlet Palembang. Employing a qualitative approach, this study found a numerous press agents? interactions, both in terms of allocative resources and authoritative resources. These indicate the press agents? competences to create a novel structure in a social press practice. On the other hand, that structure also shows their capability in the newsroom, in which a press decision may not disregard the journalism regulations having been defined. Despite those facts, in terms of the process, the newsroom may not secede from the economy and politic powers leading to a market interest which derive from the four factors playing a part in the process, namely the understanding of journalism profession, code ethics system of the journalism, media convergence and freedom of the journalism in Pers Regulations.

[Tesis ini membahas tentang budaya produksi dalam newsroom TVONE pada pilpres 2014. Budaya produksi media, berkaitan dengan komposisi dan struktur sosial internal dari para pekerja media dan hubungan yang dipelihara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan studi kasus di dalam program “Presiden Pilihan Rakyat”. Untuk mengetahui budaya produksi dalam newsroom TVONE pada pilpres 2014, peneliti menggunakan observasi dan wawancara mendalam terhadap jurnalis TVONE. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa individual level, level rutinitas media, level organisasi, level ekstra media serta level ideologi berperan dalam budaya produksi pada newsroom TVONE di pilpres 2014.;This research focused on the cultural production in newsroom TVONE at the 2014 presidential election. Media production culture, with regard to the composition and internal social structure of the media workers and relationships are maintained. This is a qualitative research that using case study on Presiden Pilihan Rakyat programme. To find out cultural production in newsroom TVONE at the 2014 presidential election, therefore the author use case study on Presiden Pilihan Rakyat TV programme. Penelitian ini bermaksud lmtuk melihat perbandingan manajemen redaksiona] antara sims sims berita Detilccom dan Kompas.com. Bcrdasarkan pcnclitian., masing-masing news media online ini memiliki karakteristik sebagai situs media online dan mempunyai konsep manajemen redaksional. Ada perbedaan-perbedaan yang mendasar di antara kedua sims berita online ini yajtu konsep kecepatan dan updating. target pembaca, proscs rekruitmen, jumiah Sumber Daya Manusia. I-Iasil temuan peneliiian, dapat dilihat bahwa Dezikcom mengutamakan kecepatan dan bersifat ?Breaking News?, semeniara Kompascom mengutamakan keakuratau dan kelengkapan dalam pcnyampaian beritanya. Ada pcrbedaan target pcmbaca ke dua sims lersehut dimana target pembaca Delilacom hampir seimbang antara laki-Iaki & perempuan, bommur 18 tahun kcatas, tingkat pendidikan SMA ke atas, dan dibaca semua golongan pendapatan. Sementara Kompaacom dibaca olch dominan laki-laki, beiumur 20- 35 tahun, dengan tingkal pendidikan sazjana. Proscs rekruitmen di kedua sims berita tersebut juga bcrbedzn Deiilccom mem?-erikan pelatihan terlcbih dahulu sebelum reporternya turun ke Iapangan, sementara Kompasxom langslmg menunmkan rcporternya ke lapangan sebagai saiah sam bentuk ujian bagi meneka Jumlah staf mdaksi di Kompas.com lebih sediicit dibandingkan dengan Detiic com karena rnemiliki integrated newsroom dengan koran-koran lain dalam satu grup di Keompok Kompas Gmmedia, sementara Delikcom mempunyai jumlah stef rodaizsi yang lebih banyak karena berdiri sendiri. Kata Kunci : keuapatan, target pembacm proses rekruitmen, Staf redaicsi, integrated newsroom.
ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to End out the comparisons of pertaining to editing management between news media online Detilccom and news media online Kompascom. This research shows how the methods are and what a mechanism of working is, and also shows the other variables that are related with pertaining to editing management by Detikcam and Kornpaszcom. Basically the differentiation are speed/updating, target audience, recruitment process, Human Resources. Based on this research, the results shows Kompasncom has prioritized to be accurate and complete news, on the other side, Detikcom has more prioritized to bc fast through ?breaking news?_ The target audience of Dctik.com is Male (55%) & Female (45%) by age I8 above, with education level is Senior High School and read in all SES. While readers of Kompas.com are dominant Male (71%), by age 20-35 yrs old (60%), with education level is Bachelor (54%). Recruitment process has also different. Detik.com give training betbre candidate go to field, while Kompascom has to a new reporter go to iield first to see the ability of those person as the one o"recruilment test. Besides that, Kompaszcom owns a network system/group which is having the total of human resources is less; it is because they have an integrated newsroom with other newspapers in a group. In the other hand, Detikcom doesn?t own a network system/ group so they are having a lot of human resources. Penelitian ini ingin melihat bagaimana salah satu media independen di Indonesia, yaitu Tempo, melakukan perubahan konvergensi pada ruang berita mereka. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana budaya ruang berita Tempo berperan dalam perubahan tersebut. Peneliti mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara mendalam pada delapan informan dan observasi selama 4 minggu. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa nilai-nilai budaya yang melandasi Newsroom Culture di Tempo tertanam pada asas jurnalisme Tempo. Nilai-nilai budaya tersebutlah yang membentuk Constructive Newsroom Culture di Tempo dan membuat Tempo bertahan dari perubahan ke perubahan
ABSTRACT
This research seeks to find out how one of Indonesia?s independent media, Tempo, performs changes in order to establish a convergence newsroom. Using an ethnographic method, this study explores how Tempo?s newsroom culture is taking part during the changes through a four week observation and eight in-depth interviews with the newsroom personnels. This research has found that Tempo?s newsroom culture has its values rooted on its journalism principles which was written on the magazine?s first edition in 1971. These values?namely, egalitarianism and pluralism?have been the epitome of Tempo?s everyday practices for more than 40 years. These values also shaped Tempo?s culture into a Constructive one, which is?and has always been?the key to Tempo?s survival in facing many changes.
