"Tulisan ini membahas mengenai citra agama Islam di mata orang Korea Selatan. Meskipun
jumlah Muslim setiap tahunnya meningkat, tidak menjamin bahwa Agama Islam bisa
diterima masyarakat Korea Selatan. Agama Islam juga masih termasuk agama minoritas di
beberapa negara termasuk Korea Selatan. Sebagai agama minoritas, pemeluk agama Islam di
Korea Selatan mengalami beberapa kesulitan. Kesulitan yang dihadapi salah satunya terjadi
karena masih minimnya fasilitas ramah Muslim. Tidak hanya itu, karena beberapa masalah
terkait terorisme, agama Islam memiliki citra buruk. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis
pandangan orang Korea Selatan seiring berkembangnya agama Islam.

This paper discusses the image of Islam in the eyes of South Koreans. Although the number
of Muslims increases every year, it does not guarantee that Islam can be accepted by South
Korean society. Islam also remains a minority religion in several countries including South
Korea. As a minority religion, Muslims in South Korea experience some difficulties. One of
the difficulties faced is due to the lack of friendly Muslim facilities. Not only that, because
of several issues related to terrorism, Islam has a bad image. This paper aims to analyze the
views of South Koreans along with the development of Islam. The author uses qualitative
methods by observing and describing the image of Islam that is owned by South Koreans,
both directly from questionnaire data, and through the internet and news deductively. From
the results of this study, the image of Islam in the eyes of some South Koreans still has a bad
image. However, the image of Islam owned by South Koreans can change. This can happen
because they interact with Muslims and find out more about Islam.

"This book proposes that neojihadism is a new form of political organization, global subculture, counterculture and theological understanding, with an approach to political violence that is unique to the post-Cold War period. Author from Monash University, Australia.
Many years after 9/11 there are still not adequate means to categorize groups like Al Qaeda, home-grown cells and others that claim to be perpetrating and justifying terrorist acts under the banner of jihad. This book proposes that 'neojihadism' is a new form of political organization, global subculture, counterculture and theological understanding, with an approach to political violence that is unique to the post-Cold War period. What these groups espouse and enact differs radically from totalitarianism, cults, jihad - and even jihadism. Pete Lentini takes an interdisciplinary approach that fuses comparative politics, comparative theology, subcultural studies, Islamic studies, and the sociology of religion. It cites examples from global (Al Qaeda), regional (Jemaah Islamiyah) and nationally based (Chechen and Australian) groups to illustrate the diversity within the movement. Additionally, it draws from primary materials - some of which is translated from Arabic - to help to test the extent to which the term neojihadism is a significant political, theological, and military departure from previous Islamist group experiences. This fascinating book will be invaluable for academics including postgraduate and Masters' students of terrorism studies, political science, international relations, comparative religion, and Islamic studies.
