Abstrak :
Penelitian ini membahas hubungan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan peer attachment dengan penyesuaian diri mahasiswa perantau. Kemampuan penyesuaian diri merupakan hal yang penting untuk dimiliki mahasiswa perantau, karena di tahun pertamanya mahasiswa perantau akan mengalami culture shock dalam berbagai hal. Penelitian ini melihat beberapa faktor yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap penyesuaian diri mahasiswa, diantaranya yaitu dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan peer attachment. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tahun pertama Fakultas Ilmu Politik dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Indonesia yang berasal dari luar Jabodetabek. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan stratified random sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang cukup atau sedang antara dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan penyesuaian diri mahasiswa dengan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) yaitu 0,541. Nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa perantau, maka akan semakin baik penyesuaian dirinya. Sementara itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang sedang antara peer attachment dengan penyesuaian diri mahasiswa perantau dengan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) yaitu 0,498. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin kuat peer attachment yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa perantau, maka akan semakin baik penyesuaian dirinya. ......This study discusses the relationship between peer social support and peer attachment with the adjustment of overseas students. The ability to adapt is an important thing for overseas students to have, because in their first-year overseas students will experience culture shock in various ways. This study looks at several factors that can influence student adjustment, including peer social support and peer attachment. Respondents in this study were first-year students of the Faculty of Political Science and Political Science, University of Indonesia who came from outside Jabodetabek. The research method used in this research is a quantitative method with a descriptive research type. The data collection technique in this study used stratified random sampling. The results of this study indicate that there is a moderate positive relationship between peer social support and student adjustment with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.541. This value indicates that the higher the social support possessed by overseas students, the better their adjustment will be. Meanwhile, this study also showed a moderate positive relationship between peer attachment and self-adjustment of overseas students with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.498. This shows that the stronger the peer attachment possessed by overseas students, the better their adjustment will be.

Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang mengapa mahasiswa asing yang belajar di Jepang memutuskan untuk belajar di Universitas Kyushu, Jepang. Dengan melalui internasionalisasi pendidikan tinggi, Universitas Kyushu telah menarik para mahasiswa asing untuk belajar di sana. Adapun para mahasiswa asing memiliki alasan-alasan tertentu tentang mengapa mereka memutuskan untuk belajar di universitas tersebut. Dengan menggunakan penelitian metode kualitatif, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan kajian literatur untuk menganalisis keputusan para mahasiswa asing untuk belajar di sana dari sudut pandang embeddedness dan pilihan rasional (rational choice). Beberapa faktor seperti ketersediaan beasiswa, relasi dengan guarantor, biaya hidup yang murah, program studi yang berkualitas tinggi, lingkungan alam yang asri, dan kelengkapan fasilitas publik adalah beberapa alasan yang menarik para mahasiswa asing untuk belajar di sana. Mereka juga menerima saran dan bantuan dari hubungan pertemanan mereka yang mempengaruhi keputusan mereka untuk belajar di universitas tersebut. ......This research will discuss why some foreign students studying in Japan decide to undergo their studies at Kyushu University. Thanks to the university's internationalization of higher education, Kyushu University has successfully attracted thousands of foreign students to study at the university. In this regard, foreign students have personal reasons for why deciding to study at the university. Using qualitative research methods, this research was conducted by way of interviews and a literature review to analyze the decisions of foreign students to study there from the perspective of embeddedness and rational choice. Factors such as the availability of scholarships, low cost of living, high-quality study programs, a well-preserved natural environment, and well-equipped public facilities are some of the reasons that attract foreign students to study there. They also receive recommendations and assistance from their colleagues (friends, academic supervisors, etc.) which influence their decision to study at the university.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh self-esteem dan job search self-efficacy terhadap perilaku pencarian kerja pada sarjana baru. Sebanyak 346 responden mengisi kuesioner alat ukur self-esteem (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale), job search self-efficacy (Job Search Self-Efficacy-Behavior) dan perilaku pencarian kerja (Job Search Beharior Scale). Pada penelitian ini, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-esteem (β = 0,194, p = 0,000) dan job search self-efficacy (β = 0,499; p = 0,000) memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap perilaku pencarian kerja pada sarjana baru. Lebih lanjut diketahui bahwa variabel job search self-efficacy memiliki kontribusi varian yang unik pada perilaku pencarian kerja pada sarjana baru setelah mengontrol self-esteem.

ABSTRAK
The aim of this research is to examine the influence of self-esteem and job search self-efficacy on job search behaviors among higher education fresh graduates. A total of 346 respondents completed a survey on self-esteem (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale), job search self-efficacy (Job Search Self-Efficacy-Behavior), and job search behaviors (Job Search Behavior Scale) variables. Results indicated that both self-esteem (β = 0,194, p = 0,000) and job search self-efficacy (β = 0,499; p = 0,000) positively influenced job search behaviors among fresh graduates. Furthermore, job search self-efficacy explained an incremental variance in job search behaviors above and beyond self-esteem. Theoretical and practical implications are further discussed.
