"Artikel ini menjelaskan belum berhasilnya komersialisasi liga profesional Futsal di Indonesia ditengah meningkatnya animo masyarakat terhadap olahraga Futsal. Futsal di Indonesia telah menjadi olahraga populer sejak tahun 2007. Studi-studi sebelumnya telah menjelaskan keterkaitan antara olahraga modern dengan bisnis. Tulisan ini mengkaji beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan belum berhasilnya upaya komersialisasi liga profesional Futsal di Indonesia, antara lain seperti faktor historis, peran televisi yang kurang maksimal, komitmen dan peran federasi yang belum optimal, dan faktor sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Studi ini menggunakan kasus liga profesional Futsal Indonesia untuk menjelaskan belum berhasilnya komersialisasi olahraga di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam sebagai alat mengumpulkan data yang utama. Temuan penelitian ini adalah upaya komersialisasi liga profesional Futsal belum berhasil karena empat hal, yakni konteks historis perkembangan futsal; peran televisi yang tidak maksimal; komitmen dan peran federasi yang belum optimal ; kondisi sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat.

This article explains the still not succeed commercialization of Futsal professional league in Indonesia when the public interest about Futsal are increased. Futsal has been a popular sport in Indonesia since 2007. Previous studies have explained the link between modern sports and business. This paper examines several factors that have led to the unsucessful commercialization of futsal professional league in Indonesia, such as historical factors, inadequate television roles, unoptimal commitment and the role of the federation, and socio economic factors in the community. This study used the case of Futsal professional league in Indonesia to explain the still not succeed commercialization of sport in Indonesia. This study uses qualitative methods through observation and in depth interviews as a primary data collection tool. The findings of this research are that the commercialization of Futsal Indonesia rsquo s professional league has not been sucessful because four things, which are historical context of futsal development not maximal television roles unoptimal commitment and the role of the federation social and economic conditions of society."
