Abstrak :
Perang Patriotik Besar merupakan perang terbesar dalam sejarah Uni Soviet. Peang ini terjadi pada tahun 1941-1945 antara Uni Soviet dan Jerman. Skripsi ini membahas tiga buah pidato yang disampaikan oleh Stalin pada masa itu. Secara khusus skripsi ini akan menganalisis secara kritis penggunaan unsur-unsur persuasif yang digunak oleh Stalin dalam ketiga pidato tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan model deskripsi, eksplanasi dan interpretasi. Penulis menggunakan teori wacana kritis model Van Dijk untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pemaparan secara kritis ketiga unsur persuasive, yaitu penggunaan kata sapaan, kata ganti dan gaya bahasa.

Great Patriotic War is the greatest war in the history of Uni Soviet Union. This war took place in 1941-1945 between the Soviet Union and Germany. This thesis discusses three speech delivered by Stalin at that time. In particular, this thesis will analyze critically the use of elements of persuations used by Stalin in those three speech. The research method used in this thesis is a qualitative methode with description, explanation, and interpretation models. The author use the theory of critical discourse, Van Dijk to analyze the data. The results of this study is the exposure to these three critical elements of persuasive, namely the use of the word greeting word, pronoun, and stylistics.

Buku yang berjudul "The red army : a short history" ini ditulis oleh Edgar O'Ballance. Buku ini membahas tentang sejarah singkat mengenai tentara merah pada masa Uni Soviet. Selain itu buku ini juga membahas tentang beberapa perang, seperti perang sipil, perang Polandia, dan perang melawan kelompok Nazi Jerman.

Abstrak :
This volume offers a comprehensive and original analysis and reconceptualization of the compendium of struggles that wracked the collapsing tsarist empire and the emergent USSR over a decade and that was to have a profound impact upon the history of the twentieth century. Indeed, the reverberations of those wars echo to the present day-not despite, but because of the collapse of the Soviet Union, which has re-opened many old wounds (from the Baltic to Transcaucasia). Contemporary memorializing (and de-memorializing) of these wars, therefore, form part of the works focus, but at its heart are the struggles between various Russian political and military forces (including the Whites) who sought to inherit and preserve (or even expand) the territory of the tsars, overlain with examinations of the attempts of many non-Russian national and religious groupings to divide the former empire. The reasons why some of the latter were successful in their contests with L.D. Trotskys Red Army (Poland and Finland, for example), while others (Ukraine, Georgia and the Muslim Basmachi) were not, are as much the authors concern as are explanations as to why the chief victors of the Russian Civil Wars were the Bolsheviks. Tellingly, the work begins and ends with battles in Central Asia-a theatre of the Russian Civil Wars that was closer to Mumbai than it was to Moscow.
