Abstrak :
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 14th International Workshop on Computer Algebra in Scientific Computing, CASC 2012, held in Maribor, Slovenia, in September 2012. The 28 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in this book. One of the main themes of the CASC workshop series, namely polynomial algebra, is represented by contributions devoted to new algorithms for computing comprehensive Gröbner and involutive systems, parallelization of the Gröbner bases computation, the study of quasi-stable polynomial ideals, new algorithms to compute the Jacobson form of a matrix of Ore polynomials, a recursive Leverrier algorithm for inversion of dense matrices whose entries are monic polynomials, root isolation of zero-dimensional triangular polynomial systems, optimal computation of the third power of a long integer, investigation of the complexity of solving systems with few independent monomials, the study of ill-conditioned polynomial systems, a method for polynomial root-finding via eigen-solving and randomization, an algorithm for fast dense polynomial multiplication with Java using the new opaque typed method, and sparse polynomial powering using heaps.

Abstrak :
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Large-Scale Scientific Computations, LSSC 2011, held in Sozopol, Bulgaria, in June 2011. The 74 revised full papers presented together with 3 plenary and invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on robust multigrid, multilevel and multiscale, deterministic and stochastic methods for modeling highly heterogeneous media, advanced methods for transport, control and uncertain systems, applications of metaheuristics to large-scale problems, environmental modelling, large scale computing on many-core architectures, multiscale industrial, enviromental and biomedical problems, efficient algorithms of computational geometry, high performance Monte Carlo simulations, voxel based computations and contributed papers.

Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Intelligence, ICMMSC 2012, Gandhigram, Tamil Nadu, India, in March 2012. The 62 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 332 submissions. The papers are organized in two topical sections on mathematical modelling and on scientific computation.

Abstrak :
This proceedings volume contains a selection of papers presented at the Fourth International Conference on High performance scientific computing held at the Hanoi Institute of Mathematics, Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), March 2-6, 2009. The conference was organized by the Hanoi Institute of Mathematics, the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR), Heidelberg, and its Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computational Methods for the Sciences, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. This book presents the state-of-the-art in simulation on supercomputers. Leading researchers present results achieved on systems of the High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) for the year 2011. The reports cover all fields of computational science and engineering, ranging from CFD to computational physics and chemistry, to computer science, with a special emphasis on industrially relevant applications. Presenting results for both vector systems and microprocessor-based systems, the book allows readers to compare the performance levels and usability of various architectures.
