Abstrak :
Skripsi ini membahas karakter tokoh, khususnya faktor yang memengaruhi perubahan orientasi seksual pada tokoh gay, dan perbedaan cara pandang masyarakat Indonesia dengan Thailand terhadap kehadiran kaum gay yang terdapat di dalam novel Lelaki Terindah karya Andrei Aksana. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik analisis teks. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa faktor terbesar yang dapat memengaruhi seseorang hingga dapat menjadi gay adalah melalui faktor lingkungan. Selain itu, diperoleh juga kesimpulan bahwa kaum gay lebih dapat diterima di Thailand daripada di Indonesia. ......This undergraduate thesis analyzes figures character, especially factors influencing changes in sexual orientation in gay characters, and differences in perspective Indonesian and Thailand society to the presence of gays in Lelaki Terindah by Andrei Aksana. The method used in this research is descriptive method with text analysis. The result of this research found that the biggest factor affecting a person to be gay is through environmental factors. In addition, also found that the presences of gay in Thailand are more acceptable than in Indonesia.

Karya sastra berupa novel dapat menampilkan gejala-gejala psikologis para tokohnya sebagai refleksi dari kehidupan individu. Gejala-gejala tersebut merupakan bentuk kepribadian yang dihasilkan dari proses kreatif pengarang. Salah satu novel yang menampilkan kepribadian tokoh-tokohnya adalah novel Brothermaker karya Wulanfadi. Dalam novel tersebut, tokoh protagonis dan antagonis digambarkan dengan kepribadian yang saling bertentangan. Berkaitan dengan hal itu, peneliti berusaha untuk mengkaji kepribadian tokoh protagonis dan antagonis dalam novel tersebut melalui pendekatan psikologi sastra. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui kajian studi pustaka. Landasannya adalah teori psikologi kepribadian yang dicetuskan oleh Alfred Adler. Adler mengemukakan bahwa tingkat kesehatan psikologis individu ditentukan oleh minat sosialnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh protagonis dapat dikatakan sehat secara psikologis, sementara tokoh antagonis tidak sehat secara psikologis. ......Literary works in the form of novels can portray the psychological phenomena of their characters as a reflection of individual lives. These characteristics are the result of the author's creative process and manifest as various personalities. One novel that portrays the personalities of its characters is Brothermaker by Wulanfadi. In this novel, the protagonist and antagonist are depicted with contrasting personalities. In light of this, the researcher aims to examine the personalities of the protagonist and antagonist in the novel using a literary psychological approach. The method employed is qualitative descriptive research through a literature review. The theoretical foundation is based on Alfred Adler's theory of individual psychology, which asserts that an individual's psychological well-being is determined by their social interests. The research findings indicate that the protagonist can be considered psychologically healthy, while the antagonist is psychologically unhealthy.

Salah satu jenis konflik yang sering kali digunakan dalam pengaluran cerita ialah konflik batin. Konflik batin biasanya ditunjukkan melalui bentuk pertentangan yang berlangsung dalam pikiran dan perasaan tokoh. Salah satu novel yang mengandung unsur konflik batin tokoh ialah Rencana Besar untuk Mati dengan Tenang karya Wisnu Suryaning Adji. Dalam tulisan ini, peneliti mengkaji berbagai bentuk konflik batin yang dialami tokoh serta menganalisis tindakan tokoh dalam menghadapi konflik batin tersebut. Peneliti mengkaji topik itu melalui pendekatan psikologi sastra. Teori yang digunakan, yaitu teori mengenai bentuk konflik batin yang digagas oleh Kurt Lewin serta teori mengenai bentuk penyelesaian konflik yang dikembangkan oleh Anna Freud. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa tokoh utama mengalami berbagai bentuk konflik batin yang sebagian besar berkaitan dengan kecemasan sang tokoh dalam menentukan jalan kematian. Di dalam novel ini, terdapat dua belas kutipan yang mampu menunjukkan bentuk konflik batin yang berbeda-beda, mulai dari konflik mendekat-mendekat, konflik menjauh-menjauh, hingga konflik mendekat-menjauh. Sementara itu, berdasarkan bentuk penyelesaian konflik, dari sepuluh opsi menurut Freud, terdapat tiga cara penyelesaian yang dilakukan oleh tokoh utama untuk menyelesaikan konflik batinnya, yakni pengalihan, rasionalisasi, dan reaksi formasi. ......One type of conflict that is often used in storylines is inner conflict. Inner conflict is usually shown through the form of conflict that takes place in the thoughts and feelings of the characters. One of the novels that contains elements of the character's inner conflict is Rencana Besar untuk Mati dengan Tenang by Wisnu Suryaning Adji. In this paper, the researcher examines various forms of inner conflict experienced by characters and analyzes the character's actions in dealing with this inner conflict. The researcher examines the topic through a literary psychology approach. The theory used is the theory of inner conflict initiated by Kurt Lewin and the theory of conflict resolution developed by Anna Freud. The results of the study reveal that the main character experiences various forms of inner conflict, most of which are related to the character's anxiety in determining the path of death. In this novel, there are twelve quotations that are able to show different forms of inner conflict, ranging from approach-approach conflict, avoidance-avoidance conflict, to approach-avoidance conflict. Meanwhile, based on the form of conflict resolution, of the ten options according to Freud, there are three ways of resolution used by the main character to resolve his inner conflict, namely displacement, rationalization, and reaction formation.

Dilatarbelakangi ketidaktuntasan pengusutan kasus penculikan aktivis reformasi '98, penelitian ini menganalisis keadaan psikologis kerabat dekat korban kasus tersebut dalam menghadapi kehilangan orang-orang yang dicintai dalam novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori. Dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra dan teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud, empat tokoh kerabat dekat Laut, salah satu aktivis yang diculik sekaligus tokoh utama novel, dianalisis. Mereka adalah Ibu, Bapak, Anjani, dan Asmara. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Bapak dan Ibu lebih mengedepankan id sehingga melakukan penyangkalan terhadap kenyataan bahwa Laut telah hilang dan tak akan kembali. Karena dikuasi oleh id dalam menghadapi kesedihannya, Anjani, kekasih Laut, pun menyangkal kenyataan tentang hilangnya Laut. Ia juga menderita MDD karena tidak dapat menghadapi rasa kehilangannya. Pada akhirnya, Ibu dan Anjani terlepas dari kesedihan dan penyangkalan mereka. Ego-ideal mendorong ego dalam diri mereka, seperti yang dilakukan Asmara, untuk menerima kenyataan dan memperjuangkan keadilan dan pengusutan kasus penculikan aktivis reformasi '98. Asmara adalah tokoh yang paling tegar menghadapi kesedihannya karena kehilangan Laut, kakaknya. Sejak kecil, ego mendominasi pembentukan kepribadiannya sehingga membentuk sikap yang tegas, ulet, dan lebih mengedepankan logika. Sikap-sikap tersebut membantunya memperjuangkan keadilan untuk Laut dan korban penculikan aktivis reformasi '98 lainnya. Namun, terkadang ia juga tenggelam dan menyangkal kesedihannya. Karena hanya dapat berbagi kesedihannya dengan orang yang mampu memahami kondisi dan perasaannya, ia pun menyembunyikan kesedihannya sendiri.

Based on the kidnapping case of '98 reformation activist, this study analyses the psychological condition of relatives of victim in confront the loss of beloved persons in Laut Bercerita novel by Leila S. Chudori. This study uses literature psychology theory and psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud to analyse four characters, Ibu, Bapak, Anjani, and Asmara as relatives of Laut, the main character and one of the activist who kidnapped. This study shows that Bapak and Ibu more use id, and they deny the reality about Laut who already lost and never come back. Because of she dominated by id to confront their sadness, Anjani, Laut's girlfriend also deny the reality about the lost of Laut. She also suffers from MDD because she cannot confront her feeling of loss. In the end, Ibu and Anjani loose from their sadness and denial. Ego-ideal emphasize ego in their self, as Asmara who accept reality and fight for justice in the kidnapping case of '98 reformation activist. Asmara as sister of Laut is the tough character in confront her sadness. Ego dominates her formation of personality and forming the firm, tough, and logical as her personality. Her personality helps her to fight for justice for her brother and the other victims of '98 reformation activists. However, sometimes she also feels and deny the sadness. Because of she only can share her sadness to the people who only understand the condition and feeling, she hide her sadness.
