Secara umum, pidato kampanye lebih menekankan pada membujuk dan meyakinkan seseorang terhadap sebuah pandangan tertentu. Dengan demikian, salah satu hal yang perlu diperhatikan untuk memengaruhi dan membujuk lawan bicara yaitu menyusun argumen yang solid. Penggunaan strategi persuasi yang tepat sangat berpengaruh besar terhadap keberhasilan seorang politisi untuk memersuasi. Sebagai analisis wacana politik, penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui penggunaan strategi persuasi yang digunakan oleh Michelle Obama dalam pidatonya pada acara kampanye ldquo;Hillary for America rdquo; di Manchester, New Hampshire pada tahun 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Johnstone mengenai strategi persuasi sebagai kerangka teori untuk menganalisis penggunaan penanda persuasi pada orasi Michelle. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis wacana dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Michelle menggunakan ketiga strategi persuasi dengan baik guna memengaruhi pendengarnya. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa strategi persuasi yang sering digunakan oleh Michelle adalah penalaran logis dan pengulangan. Dengan berhasilnya Michelle mengaplikasikan ketiga strategi persuasinya, menandakan bahwa Michelle memiliki kemampuan persuasi yang baik.

ABSTRACT
Campaign speech puts more emphasis on persuading and convincing people rsquo;s beliefs. Therefore, constructing a solid argument is essential to influence the audience. To understand how a politician could successfully stir the audience, it is important to see the strategy used. This research paper aims to identify the use of Johnstone rsquo;s persuasive strategies in Michelle Obama rsquo;s remark at ldquo;Hillary for America rdquo; campaign event in Manchester, New Hampshire, in 2016 as a political discourse analysis. Johnstone rsquo;s 1989 theory of persuasive strategies serves as the framework to analyze Michelle rsquo;s use of persuasive markers in her remark. This research uses a qualitative approach and employs discourse analysis as a method. The findings disclose that the three persuasive strategies are used effectively to convince the audience. The data analysis has revealed that Michelle mostly used logical reasoning and repetition throughout her speech. Having successfully implemented the strategies, Michelle has remarkable persuasive skills as a political actor.
