Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJJ) is a syndrome that affects the skin, mucous membranes of the diorifisium, and eyes with a general condition that varies from mild to severe. Skin disorders in the form of erythema, vesicles or bullae, may be accompanied by purpura. The survival of patients with Stevens Johnson Syndrome depends on the level of the exfoliation, the more extensive the exfoliation, the worse the progonisis A warm or cold compress is a non-pharmacological therapy which can be conducted independently by the nurse to relieve pain in the area around the lesion of the patient. The purpose of this paper is to discover the benefit of using the warm or cold compress to the child with Stevens Johnson Syndrome which is given for five nursing days in hospital. The result of giving the warm or cold compress for five nursing days shows a decrease in the pain of the client from a score of six (6) on the first day of the assesment to zero (0) on the fifth day using Wong Baker Face Scale pain assesment tool. The warm and cold compress treatment to reduce the pain of the child with Stevens Johnson Syndrome is expected to become an alternative independent treatment from nurses in carrying out their role as providers of holistic nursing care.
