"Praktek residensi keperawatan medikal bedah peminatan imunologi bertujuan agar residen perawat mampu memberikan asuhan keperawatan spesialis, menerapkan evidence-based nursing (EBN) dan berperan sebagai inovator di ruang perawatan klien. Peran sebagai pemberi asuhan keperawatan dilakukan dengan menerapkan teori kebutuhan Henderson pada klien HIV dan AIDS dengan diare kronik dan 30 klien HIV dan AIDS dengan infeksi oportunistik lainnya. Masalah keperawatan yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu defisit nutrisi. Intervensi keperawatan utama untuk defisit nutrisi adalah manajemen nutrisi dengan tujuan agar status nutrisi klien membaik. Penerapan EBN pemberian probiotik pada klien HIV dengan kandidiasis oral menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada skor tongue coating index kandidiasis oral antara sebelum dengan setelah pemberian probiotik sehingga dapat diterapkan sebagai intervensi keperawatan pada klien HIV dengan kandidiasis oral. Proyek inovasi keperawatan berupa penggunaan aplikasi android LuSY untuk pengkajian kandidiasis oral tipe pseudomembran pada klien HIV yang menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi dan uji coba aplikasi meningkatkan pengetahuan perawat tentang kandidiasis oral dan memberikan kemudahan dalam mengkaji tingkat kandidiasis oral.

The practice of medical-surgical nursing with specialization in immunology aims to enable resident nurses to provide specialist nursing care, apply evidence-based nursing (EBN) and act as innovators in the client care room. The role as a nursing care provider is carried out by applying Henderson's theory of needs to HIV and AIDS clients with chronic diarrhea and 30 HIV and AIDS clients with other opportunistic infections. The most common nursing problem is nutritional deficit. The main nursing intervention for nutritional deficits is nutritional management with the aim of improving the client's nutritional status. The application of EBN for giving probiotics to HIV clients with oral candidiasis showed a significant difference in the oral candidiasis tongue coating index score between before and after probiotic administration so that it could be applied as a nursing intervention to HIV clients with oral candidiasis. A nursing innovation project in the form of using the LuSY android application for the assessment of pseudomembranous oral candidiasis in HIV clients which shows that socialization and application trials increase nurses' knowledge about oral candidiasis and provide convenience in assessing the level of oral candidiasis."

Predisposing factors in this disease include immunosuppression, medications, malignancies, endocrine disorders, nutritional deficiencies, high-carbohydrate diet, salivary changes, dental prostheses, smoking and poor oral hygiene. We repod a case of oral candidiasis with severe iron deficiency anemia as an underlying factor in a 40 years old male patient, based on the history, clinical findings and fungal examinations. Case management included prescribing anti-fungal agent, identification and conection of predisposing factors and elimination of oral fungal reservoir. The oral lesions were reduced with improving systemic condition. We concluded that comprehensive management is required to achieve an optimal improvement in this case."
