Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, banyak penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa keragaman gender memiliki kepentingan strategis bagi perusahaan. Sebagai tanggapan, proporsi perempuan di dewan perusahaan telah meningkat di beberapa negara meskipun sifatnya tidak mencukupi. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh tekanan institusional terhadap jumlah perempuan pada dewan direksi di 22 negara. Saya menggunakan regresi linier untuk menilai pengaruh tekanan koersif dan normatif terhadap saham perempuan di dewan perusahaan menggunakan data yang diperoleh dari beberapa database. Saya telah menemukan bahwa tekanan koersif mendorong peningkatan proporsi perempuan di dewan perusahaan di negara-negara yang diamati. Saya telah menjelaskan hubungan antara dua fitur tekanan normatif dan keragaman gender dalam dewan perusahaan selama periode yang diamati. Temuan saya menunjukkan bahwa tekanan normatif memiliki pengaruh lebih besar terhadap keragaman gender. Studi masa depan harus fokus pada analisis tingkat perusahaan untuk menganalisis secara menyeluruh pengaruh tekanan normatif. Studi ini menyarankan bahwa pembuat kebijakan harus menilai kembali kebijakan mereka mengenai tekanan koersif yang diberikan di negara tertentu. ......In recent years, studies have shown that gender diversity has strategic importance for a firm. In response, the share of women on corporate boards has increased in several countries albeit its insufficient nature. The focus of this study is to analyze the influence of institutional pressures on the share of women on corporate boards in 22 countries. I use linear regression to assess the influence of coercive and normative pressures on the share of women on corporate boards using data procured from several databases. I have found that coercive pressures induce an increase in the share of women on corporate boards in the observed countries. I have described the link between the two features of normative pressures and the corporate boards’ gender diversity over the observed period. My findings suggest that normative pressures have more influence over gender diversity. Future studies should focus on firm-level analysis in order to thoroughly analyze the influence of normative pressures. This study suggests that policy makers should reassess their policy concerning the coercive pressures exerted in the given country.

Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bukti empiris pada pengaruh diversitas gender dewan komisaris dan direksi, ukuran dewan komisaris dan direksi, gender CEO serta gender komisaris independen terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan yang diukur dengan menggunakan tingkat pengungkapan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tahun 2014 dengan total sampel 130 pengamatan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah regresi linier berganda dengan program Eviews. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa diversitas gender dewan direksi dan ukuran dewan direksi berpengaruh positif terhadap tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan. Sedangkan diversitas gender dewan komisaris, ukuran dewan komisaris, gender CEO, dan gender komisaris independen tidak memiliki pengaruh pada tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan. ABSTRACT

The results of this study show that gender diversity of board of directors and board of director size has a positive effect on CSR.
