Abstrak :
Tesis ini menjabarkan mengenai pola interdependensi yang dikemukakan oleh Keohane dan Nye yang terjadi antara Amerika Serikat dengan Indonesia terkait isu masalah perpanjangan Kontrak Karya PT Freepeort Indonesia yang akan segera berkahir pada 2021. Saat ini pemerintah sedang sibuk dalam menyiapkan syarat – syarat yang harus dipenuhi oleh PT Freeport Indonesia, jika ingin kontrak karyanya di perpanjang. Mengingat pelanggaran – pelanggaran serta kerugian yang telah dialami oleh Indonesia selama masa periode kontrak karya yang kedua, maka dapat dipastikan bahwa renegosiasi tersebut akan berjalan cukup sulit. Masalah – masalah yang ditimbulkan oleh PT Freeport Indonesia selama masa periode kontrak karya kedua ini diantaranya terkait isu lingkungan, kesenjangan sosial, divestasi saham, serta pembangunan tempat pemurnian atau smelter yang seharusnya sudah dibangun dalam 5 tahun sejak Undang Undang Minerba diterbitkan. Meskipun dalam kontrak karya pertama PT Freeport Indonesia memiliki power yang lebih besar untuk menekan Pemerintah Indonesia, karena kebutuhan pemerintah saat itu akan investasi asing guna meningkatkan pembangunan Indonesia. Namun, pada seiring berjalannya waktu, maka Pemerintah Indonesia melalui kontrak karya kedua mulai sedikit demi sedikit menunjukan kekuatannya kepada pemerintah Amerika Serikat lewat PT Freeport Indonesia. ......This thesis describes the patterns of interdependence proposed by Keohane and Nye happened between the US and Indonesia over the issue of the extension problem of Contract of Work (CoW) of PT Freeport Indonesia that will soon expires in 2021. Currently, the government is busy in preparing the terms - conditions that must be met by PT Freeport Indonesia, if it wants to renew his contract of work until 2041. Given the violations and losses that have been experienced by Indonesia during the second period of the contract of work, it can be ascertained that the renegotiation will take quite difficult. The problems posed by PT Freeport Indonesia during the second period of the contract's work were related to environmental issues, social inequality, divestiture, as well as the construction of purification or smelters that should have been built in the five years since the Mining Law was published. Although in the first contract of works of PT Freeport Indonesia, US has a greater power to press the Government of Indonesia, because the needs of the current government to get the foreign investment to boost the development of Indonesia. However, as time goes on, the Government of Indonesia through the second contract of work began gradually shows its strength to the US government through PT Freeport Indonesia.

Abstrak :
Tesis ini menganalisa mengenai korelasi dinamis pada data harga saham harian pasar ekuitas tiga belas negara Asia Pasifik dan lima negara Amerika Latin selama periode 2003 sampai 2012. Kami mengidentifikasi dua periode krisis selama periode penelitian. Yang pertama adalah krisis keuangan global dengan Amerika Serikat sebagai sumber krisis dan kedua krisis eropa dengan Eropa sebagai sumber krisis. Penelitian empiris dengan menggunakan Dynamic Conditional Correlation sebagai metode multivariate GARCH menunjukkan adanya rata-rata korelasi dinamis yang tinggi terutama pada internal regional Asia Pasifik dan Amerika Latin serta adanya efek interdependence dan contagion pada beberapa negara objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya efek pembauran antara kedua periode krisis tersebut. ......This thesis analyzed dynamic correlation in daily equity price data on thirteen Asia Pacific countries and five Latin America countries for period of 2003 to 2012. We identified two crisis period in our research period. The first is global financial crisis with United States as the source of crisis and the second is europe crisis with Europe as the source of crisis. Empirical research using Dynamic Conditional Correlation as a multivariate GARCH method find there is a high average correlation dynamic especially in internal region of Asia Pacific and Latin America also there are interdependence and contagion effect in several research object countries. Result of our research also find there are comfounding effect between the two crisis period.
