Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Workshop MUSCLE 2011 on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Understanding, organized by the ERCIM working group in Pisa, Italy on December 2011. The 18 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from over numerous submissions. The papers cover the following topics: multisensor systems, multimodal analysis, crossmodel data analysis and clustering, mixed-reality applications, activity and object detection and recognition, text and speech recognition, multimedia labelling, semantic annotation, and metadata, multimodal indexing and searching in very large data-bases; and case studies.

Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Multimedia Modeling Conference, MMM 2012, held in Klagenfurt, Austria, in January 2012. The 38 revised regular papers, 12 special session papers, 15 poster session papers, and 6 demo session papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 142 submissions. The papers are organized in the following topical sections: annotation, annotation and interactive multimedia applications, event and activity, mining and mobile multimedia applications, search, summarization and visualization, visualization and advanced multimedia systems, and the special sessions: interactive and immersive entertainment and communication, multimedia preservation: how to ensure multimedia access over time, multi-modal and cross-modal search, and video surveillance.

Abstrak :
This volume contains the Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Intelligent Interactive Multimedia Systems and Services (KES-IIMSS-12). The Conference was jointly organised by Nagoya University in Japan and the KES International organisation, and held in the attractive city of Gifu. The KES-IIMSS conference series, presents novel research in various areas of intelligent multimedia system relevant to the development of a new generation of interactive, user-centric devices and systems. The two volume set, CCIS 262 and 263, constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference, MulGraB 2011, held as Part of the Future Generation Information Technology Conference, FGIT 2011, in conjunction with GDC 2011, Jeju Island, Korea, in December 2011. Abstrak :
The two-volume proceedings LNCS 7087 + LNCS 7088 constitute the proceedings of the 5th Pacific Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology, PSIVT 2011, held in Gwangju, Korea, in November 2011. The total of 71 revised papers was carefully reviewed and selected from 168 submissions. The topics covered are: image/video coding and transmission; image/video processing and analysis; imaging and graphics hardware and visualization; image/video retrieval and scene understanding; biomedical image processing and analysis; biometrics and image forensics; and computer vision applications.

This book constitutes the revised selected papers from the First International Workshop on Multimedia for Cultural Heritage, MM4CH 2011, held in Modena, Italy, on May 3, 2011. The 8 full papers and 9 poster papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 25 submissions. In addition, the book contains a paper resuming the outcome of the discussion session. The workshop aimed on creating a profitable informal working day to discuss hot topics in multimedia, with special application to cultural heritage.
