Abstrak :
Named Data Networking NDN merupakan arsitektur jaringan komputer yang sedang berkembang.NDN mengubah paradigma jaringan yang terdapat pada Internet Protocol IP yang menggunakan alamat-alamatlogika mesin atau ldquo;dimana rdquo; mendapatkan data, langsung ke penggunaan nama data secara langsung atau ldquo;apa rdquo;nama datanya. NDN telah dibuktikan arsitekturnya melalui implementasi berbagai jenis aplikasi, termasukpenggunaan video-conferencing dengan lebih dari satu pengguna, yang dilakukan di atas jaringan NDN dalamimplementasi library NDN-RTC. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan analisis terhadap kinerja mekanisme penarikandata realtime melalui Interest pada library NDN-RTC melalui pengujian pada kondisi jaringan yang berbedabeda, pengubahan faktor pengali pada modul Interest Expression Control, serta pengujian dengan jumlah banyakpengguna. Dari hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan melalui pengujian dengan headless client NDN-RTC, ditemukanbahwa tidak ada hubungan linear antara bertambahnya latensi jaringan dengan kualitas playout yang ditampilkanke pengguna. NDN-RTC juga mengalami ketidakpastian akibat mekanisme estimasi round trip time pada tingkataplikasi yang implisit selama rata-rata 3 detik pertama. Dibutuhkan mekanisme yang lebih eksplisit untukmendapatkan round trip time yang lebih pasti antara Konsumen dan Produsen. Pada pengubahan nilai faktorpengali, didapati nilai faktor 0.25 sebagai nilai yang baik pada latensi 100 dan 200 milidetik, serta nilai faktor0.25 dan 1.00 sebagai nilai yang baik untuk latensi 300 milidetik. Mekanisme implisit NDN-RTC jugamengakibatkan ketidaksinkronan pada implementasi banyak pengguna, dengan nilai playout yang tidak sinkronhingga selisih waktu 4 detik. Penelitian lebih lanjut untuk kontrol ekspresi Interest yang lebih adaptif danmekanisme sinkronisasi playback antar-pengguna dapat menjadi solusi atas masalah-masalah yang ditemukanpada penelitian ini. ......Named Data Networking NDN shifts the current internet protocol rsquo s networking paradigm fromaddresses of machines or lsquo where rsquo to get data into the needed data or lsquo what rsquo data to get directly through namingdata packets. NDN has proven its architecture through the use of various applications, including multipartyrealtime videoconferencing, run on multiple devices on NDN network, which had been implemented in NDNRTC library. In this work, we analyze and evaluate NDN RTC rsquo s performance. We assess NDN RTC throughseveral runs on different network conditions, tuning NDN RTC rsquo s multiplier factor in the Interest ExpressionControl Module, and running NDN RTC on multiple clients simultaneously with different network conditions. Through the implementation and evaluation, we found that there is no linear relationship between the increase ofnetwork latency in impacting the quality of playout on application layer. NDN RTC also suffers from the earlyuncertainty of application level round trip time, which is the result of NDN RTC rsquo s RTT averaging, for aroundthe first 3 seconds. On the change of multiplier factor, the factor 0.25 is found to be the best for the networklatency of 100 and 200 milliseconds, and 0.25 and 1.00 for the 300 milliseconds network latency, compared tothe worse performing default factor of 0.50. The findings opens the discussion of developing a more adaptivestrategy. NDN RTC rsquo s implicit fetching mechanism and its lack of synchronization methods also leads to the outof sync state of multiple clients, with up to 4 seconds playout difference in this work. Further study anddevelopment can be done for NDN RTC rsquo s strategy to control Interest expression, and for a new inter consumerplayback synchronization method, to cope with the problems found in this work.
