Abstrak :
Diberikan suatu f(x), dengan f adalah fungsi nonlinear terhadap x. Masalahnya adalah mencari x yang meminimumkan nilai fungsi f(x). Metode yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah metode Gradien (Steepest Descent) dan metode konjugat gradien (Fletcher-Reeves). Pada kedua metode tersebut untuk mencari panjang langkah yang digunakan adalah metode pencarian Fibonacci. Akan dilihat kinerja kedua metode tersebut dalam hal waktu penyelesaian dan banyak iterasi yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Berdasarkan beberapa contoh masalah yang disimulasikan dalam program MATLAB, penyelesaian dengan menggunakan metode Steepest Descent memerlukan iterasi yang lebih banyak dan waktu proses yang lebih lama dibandingkan dengan menggunakan metode Fletcher-Reeves. Abstrak :
This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 15th International Workshop on Approximation Algorithms for Combinatorial Optimization Problems, APPROX 2012, and the 16th International Workshop on Randomization and Computation, RANDOM 2012, held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, in August 2011. The volume contains 28 contributed papers, selected by the APPROX Program Committee out of 70 submissions, and 28 contributed papers, selected by the RANDOM Program Committee out of 67 submissions. APPROX focuses on algorithmic and complexity issues surrounding the development of efficient approximate solutions to computationally difficult problems. RANDOM is concerned with applications of randomness to computational and combinatorial problems.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the IFIP WG 8.4, 8.9, TC 5 International Cross Domain Conference and Workshop on Availability, Reliability and Security, CD-ARES 2012, held in Prague, Czech Republic, in August 2012. Abstrak :
This volume contains a selection of contributions that were presented at the Modeling and Optimization : Theory and Applications Conference (MOPTA) held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA on August 18-20, 2010. The conference brought together a diverse group of researchers and practitioners, working on both theoretical and practical aspects of continuous or discrete optimization. Topics presented included algorithms for solving convex, network, mixed-integer, nonlinear, and global optimization problems, and addressed the application of optimization techniques in finance, logistics, health, and other important fields.
