Tesis ini membahas upaya perusahaan media massa melakukan konvergensi untuk mempertahankan performa pasarnya. Penelitian ini menggabungkan dua penelitian, kuantitatif dan kualitatif, untuk melihat dampak langkah konvergensi tersebut terhadap pertumbuhan perusahaan. Hal itu karena biaya investasi yang dibutuhkan tidak kecil. Dengan menggunakan analisis rasio untuk menganalisis laporan keuangan tahunan yang diterbitkan perusahaan media massa yang telah mencatatkan diri di bursa efek, diketahui bahwa setelah mengalami sedikit goncangan, akhirnya kinerja keuangan perusahaan menunjukkan perkembangan yang menggembirakan. Hal ini karena pendapatan dari media digital sebagai unit bisnis baru hasil konvergensi telah mampu menyumbang keuangan perseroan cukup signifikan. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa upaya konvergensi yang dilakukan sudah tepat, mampu menopang kinerja perusahaan media massa konvensional, dalam menghadapi perkembangan teknologi informasi komunikasi

ABSTRAK
This thesis discusses the efforts of the mass media convergence company to retain its market performance. This study combines two studies, quantitative and qualitative, to see the impact of the convergence step towards the growth of the company. That's because the cost of the investment required is not small. By using ratio analysis to analyze the annual financial statements published media companies who have signed up on a stock exchange, it is known that after a bit of shock, finally showed the company's financial performance improved dramatically. This is because the revenue from digital media as a new business unit convergence result has been able to contribute significant financial company. Thus, the results of studies suggest that convergence efforts made are correct, the company is able to sustain the performance of the conventional mass media, in the face of the development of information communication technology

Abstrak :
In this volume, Paolo Sigismondi explores the dynamics of global media and entertainment, specifically analyzing the implications of the global rise of non-scripted entertainment (as reality TV programs) and the impact and consequences of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution on the content, delivery platforms, and overall business models of the media and entertainment landscape. This work aims at bridging the gap between media theories and industry practices in a rapidly evolving global mediascape, building on scholarship in the field and enriched by case studies and insights from business practice.
