Sekitar 70 dari penderita stroke yang sembuh menderita gejala sisa seperti hemiplegia kejang dan kesulitan bicara Untuk mengobati gejala sisa dilakukan neuroterapi menggunakan Pirasetam yang ternyata memberikan banyak efek samping Berangkat dari hal tersebut dilakukanlah penelitian menggunakan akar kucing Acalypha indica Linn sebagai neuroterapi pada hewan coba dengan dosis efektif 400 500mg Untuk dicobakan pada manusia dosis tersebut dirasa terlalu besar Untuk menurunkan dosis akar kucing pada penelitian ini dilakukan eksperimen menggunakan kombinasi 250mg akar kucing dan 150mg pegagan Centella asiatica Linn sebagai neuroterapi pada tikus pascahipoksia Indikator efektifitas kombinasi ekstrak akan dilihat dari jumlah sel normal kondensasi dan piknotik dari hewan coba yang diterapi dengan kombinasi ekstrak ini dan dibandingkan dengan efektifitas pirasetam kontrol positif dan akuades kontrol negatif Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji post hoc menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan bermakna antara hasil terapi menggunakn kombinasi ekstrak dengan akuades maupun pirasetam p 0 05 Akan tetapi dari hasil penghitungan rerata sel terlihat peningkatan jumlah sel normal pada pemberian kombinasi ekstrak jika dibandingkat dengan kontrol negatif Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak memiliki efek dalam perbaikan neuron di girus dentatus eksternus tikus pascahipoksia yang lebih baik daripada akuades dan hampir sama dengan pirasetam p 0 1 ...... About 70 of recovered stroke patients are suffering from some sequeles such as hemiplegic seizures difficulty in speaking and others Piracetam is usually used to medicate these sequele unfortunately it has many side effects Reviewing from it several researchers conducted an experiment using Acalypha indica Linn in animals as a neurotherapy with effective dose at 400 and 500mg To be tried in humans this dose is too large To reduce the dose of Acalypha indica we conduct an experimental study by combining 250mg of Acalypha indica with 150mg of Centella asiatica Linn The effectiveness of this extract combination will be seen from the total of normal condensation and picnotic cells of experimental animals treated with this extract combination and compared with the effectiveness of piracetam positive control and aquadest negative control The results of data analysis using post hoc test indicated there is no significant differences between the extract combination with aquadest or piracetam p 0 05 But from the cell calculation there is an increasement of normal cells in mices which are treated by the extract combination compared with the group which is treated with aquadest We can conclude that therapy using the extract combination is more effective than distilled water and almost as effective as piracetam p 0 1
